dulcimergirl Posted October 14, 2013 #26 Share Posted October 14, 2013 Um normally, I would only cruise once in every couple of years. I just started cruising in 06 I believe. This year, year and a few months have been exceptional. I have had 7 in the past year, and have 3 booked before the end of Dec. Probably won't be cruising for another year or so after that, tho. Will need the checkbook/credit card to cool off for a while. lol
cruizinisthebest Posted October 14, 2013 #27 Share Posted October 14, 2013 Once a year. Would love to do it more often though.
Jenny in TX Posted October 14, 2013 #28 Share Posted October 14, 2013 The last couple of years we have cruised twice a year, but normally we only go once. I would love to cruise 3-4 times a year but we always have other land vacations planned that make that impossible.
Retiringworkingstiff Posted October 14, 2013 #29 Share Posted October 14, 2013 Just curious... This has been a good "cruise" year for me with 4 sailings. How many times do you sail per year? :) The upcoming cruise December Breeze will be our 2nd in 2013. I am 58 and Mrs. is not far behind, want to slow things down a bit in life, 3 would be ideal for us.
clambert1273 Posted October 14, 2013 #30 Share Posted October 14, 2013 Now that my kids are a bit older and we have much better jobs, we are on target for 2 per year. Once with the kids and one without :) I would love to do more but vacation time just won't allow it :)
AXiDMonica Posted October 14, 2013 Author #31 Share Posted October 14, 2013 That's awesome everyone! Clearly we are all a bunch of cruise lovers! (...like we didn't already know that! ;))
jsfromsc Posted October 14, 2013 #32 Share Posted October 14, 2013 I wish I cruised more often and once a year would be great! I'm with you. The shortest time between cruises for me has been 2 years. I'm also married to a guy that said he was "cruised out" before our last cruise, a Baltic itinerary. However, there is hope because we had a fantastic time in the Baltic. I think as long as I can find a good itinerary he'll be okay. But he told me he is tired of the Caribbean. I'm working on him now for Alaska. After that, I may have to try another line (may even have to for Alaska, because we will want the best possible itinerary) just to keep him interested in cruising. Carnival, so far, doesn't go to many places outside the Caribbean. Or I'll have to find someone else to cruise with. :) I'm amazed at how many people here cruise several times a year. I wish I could but can't afford it, nor do I have the vacation time available to do so. That's one of the reasons I'm here on CC so often. I have to enjoy reading about other people's cruises. Keep those reviews and pictures coming, Folks, for us poor folks who can't cruise as often as we'd like to.:D
tree.critter Posted October 14, 2013 #33 Share Posted October 14, 2013 1-2 cruises normally in a year, but we sail locally 2-4 times a month depending on weather and work schedule. Mostly day sails but occasional overnighters. Being on the ocean is good juju medicine for me.
clcjdn Posted October 14, 2013 #34 Share Posted October 14, 2013 Our plan was to shoot for 1 per year. However, with the recent cruise promotions we have been getting, a 7 day out of Miami or FLL is about the same price as a weekend in Vegas. We usually do Vegas 1-2 times a year, but I will gladly trade those trips for 7 day cruises. Net effect, we went on one in Sept (no kids). Have a family one in Nov. Then another one in Jan (no kids). After Jan though, it would have to be a huge deal or promo to get me back on before Sept of 14 (next family one for niece's 18th). I know the gambling on the ships is not as good as Vegas, but the additional days and locations are well worth it! I'm moving away from planning/booking cruises well in advance and would rather wait to see what kind of casino promos I get.
MIZZ_K Posted October 14, 2013 #35 Share Posted October 14, 2013 I try for once a year, this year though I have sailed 3 times with 2 more coming up in November and December.
allison0523 Posted October 14, 2013 #36 Share Posted October 14, 2013 4 this year with 3 being last minute. We are officially addicted! We are fortunate to have flexible schedules and the means to do so. Although we book the ones that are good deals or book way early for the best pricing. If we lived near a port, we would be in trouble!
kimmimom Posted October 14, 2013 #37 Share Posted October 14, 2013 Last yr was 3, which was great. This year only once due to work schedule. Have one booked in 2014 and hope to be able to do 1 or 2 more next year.

jwalk03 Posted October 15, 2013 #44 Share Posted October 15, 2013 Have cruised once per year in 2011 (4 day), 2012 (6 day), and 2013 (7 day). We have decided for next year not to take a cruise though. Gonna give an AI a try instead, plus we got engaged on our most recent cruise last month so we are planning a wedding as well! But I'm sure we'll be back on a cruise in 2015 sometime, especially since the company we both work for just announced they are giving us all an extra week of vacation starting next year! cruisinthemed Posted October 15, 2013 #46 Share Posted October 15, 2013 We've got #6 & 7 since Feb. in a couple weeks...would have been more, but we opted for a last minute Cabo vaca last Oct. to go to Sammy Hagar's birthday @ Cabo Wabo & cancelled a cruise that we had booked. I got sick last Nov. & had to cancel another:(
ccruisequeen Posted October 15, 2013 #47 Share Posted October 15, 2013 At least once a year. Sometimes two. Most I've ever done is three "I can see Carnival Miracle and Inspiration from my porch" (to paraphrase Tina Fey as S. Palin) I still cruise for Warm Chocolate Melting Cake (with 2 sugar-free vanilla ice-creams!)
ripjerry95 Posted October 15, 2013 #48 Share Posted October 15, 2013 I cruised once per year since 2009. This year was our first non-cruise year. We are planning one for 2014. I wish I could cruise more but finances don't allow. Send from device_name using Cruise Critic your_app_name App
richfret Posted October 15, 2013 #49 Share Posted October 15, 2013 Have completed 16 cruises in the last 18 years. All have been with Carnival and were seven or more days. Cruise 17 is already booked for 2014. We do the "book a cruise while on a cruise" for the $100 OBC. With FTTF and VIFP and living in Florida, how could you go wrong cruising? icruz Posted October 15, 2013 #50 Share Posted October 15, 2013 DW and I usually book 8 to 10 cruises with Carnival each year...we are both "Diamond" with Carnival and Diamond with RCCL; however, we much prefer Carnvial for many reasons
