silver service Posted October 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2013 I will ask this on the cunard site also. Is the food in the main dining room on cunard any better than p&o? It has been some time since last on cunard. On queen Victoria next year. Thanks.
soobs Posted October 16, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 16, 2013 Yes. But so difficult to compare Cunard is very grand and feels very grand the steaks were better quality, food was presented slightly better, breakfasts were more grand, smoked salmon available every day. The food on the Azura was very good but QM2 just pipped them at the post.
silver service Posted October 18, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted October 18, 2013 Thanks soobs, queen Mary was the first ship we sailed on back in 2006.that is what got us into this cruising thing. Starting at the top you might say! We had the delight of a princess grill suite, so had nothing else to compare to.been eating in the MDR, on p&o ever since. Except a trip to Norway on queen Victoria.i get the impression I will see a difference in Britannia next year. Regards, mike.
davecttr Posted October 18, 2013 #4 Share Posted October 18, 2013 Are Cunard cruises more expensive than the equivalent itinery on P&O? If not, how come Cunard can provide better food.
silver service Posted October 19, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted October 19, 2013 Actually, paying £500 less for queen Victoria Black Sea cruise next September (per person) than on p&o aurora, exact itinery. So hard to figure!
helpthejuggler Posted October 19, 2013 #6 Share Posted October 19, 2013 Found the MDR on Azura to be poor to just OK. Compared to Cunard where we have been mostly impressed. In fact QE was very good. These have all been shorter cruises, so maybe Azura gets better on longer durations.
Thejuggler Posted October 19, 2013 #7 Share Posted October 19, 2013 Are Cunard cruises more expensive than the equivalent itinery on P&O? If not, how come Cunard can provide better food. Better is subjective. You eat with your eyes and the same food presented in different ways can make you think one is better than the other.
