TravelMadBrits Posted October 25, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 25, 2013 Hi there I'm bumping this on the list again as I'm wondering how to find out when Quantum arrives in southampton. We leave on the 1st for the transatlantic and was thinking it would be great if she were there. Or is this way too early to know? Thanks for your thoughts! Able Seaman H Posted October 30, 2013 #4 Share Posted October 30, 2013 It's too early to say at this stage. Obviously the ships don't usually stay in port overnight, it is possible Quantum might overnight in order to show its self off to travel industry people. It might do some short "trade" cruises for them. We operate a 50 foot charter boat in the Solent and I find this site invaluable to see what will be in port if customers want to see cruise ships from the water. We are able to get quite close to the ships and can even dock in Southampton ourselves! http://www.southamptonvts.co.uk/Live_Information/Shipping_Movements_and_Cruise_Ship_Schedule/Cruise_Ship_Schedule/ That shows cruise ship activity in Southampton straight from the horses mouth. Southampton VTS controls movements in and out of the port. Henry :)

Henry :) Maybe this will help: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/cruiseDetails/itinerary.do?hasSenior=&hasMilitary=&hasFireandPolice=&cruiseType=CO&state=&packageCode=QN08T002&date= It doesn't answer the question about when she arrives, but it does tell you when she leaves. Able Seaman H Posted October 31, 2013 #6 Share Posted October 31, 2013 I think the OP was aware when Quantum was due to depart. The question was would she be in Southampton before her departure date. The ABP / VTS website will tell you when she's booked into the docks nearer the time. This website http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/ will show her live position via the onboard AIS system.
