Best way from the Baltimore port to DCA

Any idea what the best/cheapest way to DCA from the Baltimore port is? For 2 people.

It is a ways from DCA to Baltimore port (1 hour + if traffic is good, which it rarely is). If you cannot change your arrival airport to BWI, check and see if your cruise line offers ship to airport transfers. That would probably be the best and cheapest way. Otherwise you could take a taxi to the Baltimore Penn station to Wash Union Station and Metro from Union Station to DCA (will involve transferring lines). This is a pain if you have luggage and will probably be more than cruisline transfer cost. Taxi cost would be prohibitive. Best option may be to change your arrival airport to BWI. It is only 11 miles from cruise terminal.

this is a back up plan as when we return from our cruise there is only one flight out of BWI that day on American to ORD and if the Pride is delayed we won't make it.. so trying to figure out if it will cost the same as a hotel if we needed to get home that same day to just get to DCA and fly out of there.. more options to get home.

There are airport to airport shuttles - google BWI to DCA shuttle. Not sure of prices, but would be easiest - catch cab from port to BWI, and then grab shuttle. You coul do train too, although, there are some changes - I think you would need to do Amtrak to Union Station, and then you would grab red line (metro) towards Shady Grove, and change to Yellow line at L'Enfant Plaza (towards Hunington / Springfield). The yellow line stops at DCA.

Have you looked at Southwest Airlines? They have numerous flights between BWI and Chicago Midway.

Otherwise, if you need to get to DCA, just remember that you can have cheap (relatively) or you can have easy, but you cannot have both.
