Grand and Golden - any differences?

We are going on the Golden Princess after taking the Grand Princess in the past. After first glance at the web site - they look identical, are they realy?

If not - what variations should we expect?

There are a few differences, mostly cosmetic. The atrium area on the Golden is a little nicer, for example. The central staircase goes all the way up, not stopping at Deck 7 where it becomes for crew use only on the Grand. You'd be hard-pressed to tell them apart from the outside without seeing the name.

 

Oops - that used to be true. The Grand has MUTS now, so it's pretty obvious which is which today.

For the exterior,The front superstructure (below the bridge) on the Grand is different from that on the Golden and Star Princess (if you didn't know that...) I prefer the front on the Golden/Star rather than on the Grand because it looks much nicer IMO...

Thanks, Captain. I hadn't noticed that there was a difference there.

 

One more little difference is that Golden Princess has a large Grand Suite in an aft location, while Grand Princess has two slightly smaller GS suites located on Lido Deck.

Golden has some balconies on the Lido Deck which are just extra large window cabins on the Grand.
