Freedom 6-14-14 Tortola gone

Just pulled up my booking for 6-14-14 and Tortola has been dropped and San Juan added for Carnival Freedom. What a bummer, we had booked this since we had never been to Tortola. I never received notice from Carnival about the change. Is this normal? At least I caught it now and can change. Anyone know why Tortola was removed? I will be calling Carnival this week(maybe discount).

Happened to us on our Liberty cruise next November. They are doing work on the docks and Carnival feels it is better to not go there while they are working. We also got San Juan as a replacement

Tortola's pier will be under construction at that time. Carnival decided to cancel all stops to Tortola during the time period that the pier will be under construction.

We are sailing on Liberty on 6/7/14 and just checked and it appears Tortola is still there. I am not sure what the cutoff date is for the last cruise there before pier construction.

It sucks but if you are expecting a discount or some OBC, forget it...I don't think that's going to happen.

You have plenty of time to cancel. Tortola is worth visiting....you don't have to stick with that sailing.
