kchiumento Posted November 3, 2013 Author #28 Share Posted November 3, 2013 Thank you so much for your review. We will be newbie NCL cruisers on Jewel in March and our son will be 12. You're info is very helpful! I am hoping since you are going in March that they split out the 10-12 from the 6-9 in the kids club. They were put together and the 12 yr old felt a little left out. However, he did make the most of it. Make sure you go to Slime Time Live. We did let him skip kids club some nights (while we did send our other 2 younger ones there) and he hung out with us. We had a nice dinner and let him go to a few shows with us. He really liked the magician. Be careful of the arcade. All they have to do is swipe their cruise card, we ended up with over $50 in games. We ended up going to the guest services desk and had them put a stop to the arcade. Have fun!
mickev99 Posted November 3, 2013 #29 Share Posted November 3, 2013 I saw that you are hating your scanner at the moment, but if you figure it out, can you please scan and post the Splash Academy dailies? That is the last piece I am missing from my planning. Thanks!!
kchiumento Posted November 3, 2013 Author #30 Share Posted November 3, 2013 We only ordered 2 pics because they were soooooooooooo expensive. Pic 1 is just John and I. pic 2 is John, I, our kids, my mom and dad and Capt Lars.

Since my son has been 3 we always let him read the dailies at night and decide which events he wants to go to. Our only limit was that he attend formal night with us (we were always on RCCL) and have pics taken. Edited November 3, 2013 by MariTenor1
kchiumento Posted November 3, 2013 Author #34 Share Posted November 3, 2013 (edited) Pic 1 - The marquee of Slime Time Live at the Stardust Theatre. I think this was Friday at 5:00Pm. I can't remember and now I'll have to check the dailies because all the days are running together. Pic 2 - 2 of my kids got picked for one of the Slime Time Live challenges. For the 10 and 12 yr old this was one of the best things ever on the ship. They are still talking about nearly 3 weeks later. Pic 3 - They had a dodgeball game. At first my kids were the only ones that showed up. But about 15 minutes into it more people showed up. It was actually quite fun. If you get a chance you should try to go, especially if you have kids. It was a fun family activity. pic 4 - Yes the cookies were THAT good.:p Edited November 3, 2013 by kchiumento

kchiumento Posted November 4, 2013 Author #37 Share Posted November 4, 2013 (edited) Pic 1) Picture of our family in the port. This was one of 2 pictures taken the entire cruise of all 5 of us. This was taken right before we got on the catamaran to go to Maya Key. The cat docked right off the port bow of the ship. It was so easy and only a 5 minute boat ride to the Island. Pic 2) This is the Jewel docked in Roatan. I tool the pic for the 2nd level of the shops right there in port. Pic 3 &4) This is the view of Roatan from our balcony. I really didn't want to leave this port of call. It was truly stunning and the picture do no do it any justice. kchiumento Posted November 4, 2013 Author #38 Share Posted November 4, 2013 Pic 1) I think Ethan really enjoyed the Hot Tub :) pic 2) Ship. Big Ship. ;) This picture really put it in perspective for us. That's my 12 yr old. He is 5'3", which is an inch taller than me. I think the bow lines were thicker than Christopher. Pic 3) Best Towel Animal of the week. Our Steward was the best. One time we left our room, ate a quick breakfast in the Garden Cafe, I had to run back to get the camera and the room was already made up. I think he slept in the closet ;)
mickev99 Posted November 4, 2013 #39 Share Posted November 4, 2013 I love the monkey towel swinging from the ceiling! How clever!!! I have a feeling my 10 year old creative child will be making me go to the towel animal folding seminar.

kchiumento Posted November 6, 2013 Author #43 Share Posted November 6, 2013 (edited) Lets see if this PhotoBucket thing works: If this works, this is a better picture of the Conquest leaving New Orleans well before us on 10/13/13. It was fun to see her creep down the river nearly 2 hours before us.
