My 11 year old just broke his leg two days ago. We are scheduled on the Conquest for a December 8th departure. I am really looking for input on what kind of things might be fun for him, including any ideas for shore excursions in Nassau, Grand Turk, St. John's, and Puerto Rico. He loves the beach. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I would suggest that you try to find a cast cover for the cruise to start off.

How much of his leg is in a cast?

To answer your question, for excursions, in PR, there is a free trolley that will take you all over. As there are many steps at the fort, you may just want to pick a level and explore that instead of negotiating stairs. Or, buy a kite, and once it's up, let him fly it while sitting down.

In Grand Turk, if he can't play in the water, if you can get down to Jacks shack they have a dog that is quite entertaining. To watch dig in the sand.

In Nassau, maybe an excursion to Atlantis to see "The Dig" I believe it's called.

Can't help with St. John's, but if you mean St. Thomas, a van tour or Coral World could be interesting. Many of these attractions can be googled.

Of course, on the ship, there is always Camp Carnival or whatever program that is appropriate for his age.

Good luck and sorry your son broke his leg.

You have a bunch of good ideas. I do have to say going down to Jack's Shack and watching a dog dig in the sand made me laugh out loud. :D
