Cruisin' Lisa Posted November 4, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted November 4, 2013 I got a flyer in the mail about 5 days ago saying I qualified for casino rates for specific cruises until June 2014 if I booked by Nov 30, 2013 -- and also got a coupon for $50 casino play. This is the first casino offer I've ever gotten. We usually do 3 and 4 day cruises and I didn't know they tracked casino play for the shorter cruises. anyhow, I initially booked the casino rate and then realized they were still offering early saver since it was more than 3 months prior to the cruise. So I called carnival and switched to the higher priced early saver (which the phone rep thought I was crazy to do as I now had a higher final payment). After I got the confirmation email sent to me, I then asked her since I was now "early saver" and I qualified for the casino rate, if I could be given the lower casino rates and she said yes. . . .so now, I still have my casino rates but am "early saver" as well in case there are any price drops between now and my feb 2014 "4 day ensenada" cruise. (I'm not optimistic there will be though, since I was able to book interior cabin for $169/pp) I am on the Inspiration out of Long beach -- but the flyer said I could book at any of 12 different departure ports. bambidrummer Posted November 4, 2013 #6 Share Posted November 4, 2013 I booked a casino rate and when the price dropped I just asked for an up grade. i had to pay for it, but it was the cabin we wanted when we booked but we thought it was a bit to much. wit the price drop it sounded better. pe4all Posted November 4, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 4, 2013 You can definitely get price drops/obc if you booked it under early saver also. If you go to your booking info, it will show you how much you paid per passenger. If that price drops, submit the early saver form, and you should be approved. We got 3 price drops on a casino rate we booked our Feb. cruise under. ($250 obc, as I had paid in full right away) If you booked anything else, they may give you an upgrade, but I am not sure on that. Good luck!
