Rare jimbo5544 Posted November 13, 2013 #26 Share Posted November 13, 2013 No surprise there. I look at the dining operation of Carnival (or any cruise line) just like a large chain restaurant. They all have standards, and deals cut with major suppliers to supply them at as many locations as possible. True, not what you were saying, but at the CT we were told they only take on food in their home port which was interesting as well. FlaCruiser007 Posted November 21, 2013 #33 Share Posted November 21, 2013 I've done the CT twice in the past 14 months and the main courses changed. First time was Kobe beef (awesome!) and salmon (sorry I'm not a salmon lover). Second time was a different beef dish and salmon again. The beef was good but I missed the Kobe! The final dessert was also different. A chocolate sampling v. a cookie/pastry dish. I'll admit I didn't focus on all of the appetizers. Some seemed very similar but a couple seemed to be different. My 2 experiences were on different ships, so perhaps there are some differences?
cruise_mojo Posted December 23, 2013 #34 Share Posted December 23, 2013 we had the second table of the cruise 14 peeps we had 4 apps on two little plates in the galley a 7 course dinner, the pea and turnip soup deal was just ok for me everything else was super! we had the wagyu, awesome, so was the tuna, yardbird and salmon bread awesome, but skipping it would be advisable, I ate just a bit with each course figuring Id skip desert since I almost never order desert but I just had to try it and damn I ate about 70% of the desert and was near miserable after dinner too! woo woo, if our buddies wanna do it we'd do it again in april but we shall see, we'd be on the fascination that cruise, who knows if the menu would change by then on the older ships
