I have no firsthand knowledge, but I doubt it. It may work in Las Vegas hotels, but I have never heard of it being applied in a car rental setting.

 

One alternative is to try for a free upgrade using one of these sites:

Bribe? LOL !!!!

Most car rental spots at busy centers will give you exactly what you booked. If that size car is NOT available when you arrive, they will offer you the next cheapest car for the price you booked.

 

If you want a larger car and for some reason don't want to pay for it, I'd advise you to book it with a discount site. OR Look for discount promo codes on google if you aren't a member of any large group...auto clubs, seniors, entertainment, company etc.
