carib Posted November 15, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2013 We were on the Royal Princess maiden Transatlantic in October. Our last stop was Madeira. What a delightful place to visit!! I am glad so many ships are calling there. I have put together a slide show from our visit. I hope you will take a look.

roothy123 Posted November 19, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 19, 2013 Beautiful photos, and looks to be a beautiful place. I'm looking forward to going there in August. Thanks for the slide show!
Essexlass2 Posted November 20, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 20, 2013 Madeira is indeed a beautiful island with stunning scenery, but there is also a lot to see in Funchal itself. Apart from the main town area where your ships will dock, within walking distance there is also the lift up to the Botanic Gardens (and a sled down if you prefer but very expensive for just half the ride back down) and just near the bottom lift area is the old town, the local colourful market and the fish market, all places where you can also see real Madeiran life. Enjoy! :)
