ferfoodle Posted November 17, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 17, 2013 Watching Miami Webcam http://www.portmiamiwebcam.com/ and the Pearl is backing out of the Port instead of going forward and using the turning basin. So weird!
seannyice81 Posted November 17, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 17, 2013 (edited) I guess Pearl won't be able to turn around either until it's completely out of the channel. Never seen that before. NVM... Pearl is turning at the fork/split Edited November 17, 2013 by seannyice81
gentlemancruiser Posted November 17, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 17, 2013 it does look a bit strange, maybe the bow thrusters we not working properly.
ferfoodle Posted November 17, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted November 17, 2013 (edited) I have never seen a ship set sail out of the Port of Miami backwards. Come to think of it, I have never seen a ship go that far in reverse either. That would be just way strange to go by South beach aft first on sail away - (edit: never mind she did turn right before the beach.) Quite a different view from POM for a change though. WildcatRock Posted November 17, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 17, 2013 We were on her one year when she went out backwards. She turns around just before open water in a large bay area between the ocean and port. Sent from my DROID4 using Forums mobile app

Rare LMaxwell Posted November 18, 2013 #11 Share Posted November 18, 2013 I was watching the webcam too. That was certainly...unique. Is there a reason that they couldn't use the turning basin today? It was a bit like a slow motion bank getaway; get up to speed in reverse and flick the nose around and keep on going. :D
