How does it work bringing wine on board?

I believe we are allowed a bottle of wine each. (legally)

Do we carry it and show them as we enter the ship or keep it in the luggage?

We are allowed to open it our selves and use it where ever we want?

As Kat says above, you must bring it on in your carry on, and it cannot be more than 750 ml. When you carry on is scanned, they will see the wine bottles, and ask you to open it for inspection. Easy as pie....

As for opening it, yes, you can open it yourself (don't forget a corkscrew) in your room. I've never tried to take the bottle anywhere, but have used either the glasses from the room, or asked a bartender for an empty glass and taken it back to my room to pour.

You can take the glass of wine wherever drinks are allowed (I'm not sure if there is anywhere that they aren't allowed, as I've never been there).

Have a great cruise....:)

We carried it on in a grocery bag, my mother in law used a wine bag. Once your through the security screen you don't have to show it to anyone, it will go through the X-ray but they probably won't look at it after that. You can open it yourself and drink it wherever you like, you just can't carry the bottle around.

Ok...Thanks

Does CCL scan the checked luggage as well?

I mean, what if (by accident) I forget I have 2 bottles of booze in my luggage.

Does it make it through or does CCL take them out?

they do scan the luggage. if they see it, they will remove it and if its in an unopened bottle , they will return it to you when you leave.

They only scan it the one time. It depends, I was with my wife, she had both bottles, no big deal.

I don't know if they scan every bag, and don't pay attention, or if they only scan a portion of the bags.

Sometimes things get taken out. Sometimes they make it through. Hit or miss.
