Hotel Recommendations for Miami

I would like some hotel recommendations for pre cruise Miami - staying 2 nights -we will probably have a rental car. Really don't want to spend more than $200 a night.

What is the Doral area like?

We don't care if it is by a beach, but would like to be somewhat close to a Total Wine store if possible.

All help is appreciated. Thank you

There are no Total Wines near anything in Miami. They are all very suburban neighborhood and I certainly wouldn't plan my stay around them when you can find great prices at Publix.

Doral has the resort then it is suburban neighborhood.

I would take a look at staying in Coral Gables. The Biltmore would be lovely.

I agree with BlueHerons. We find that the selection of wine at Publix is really quite good and I would not try to find a hotel based on being near a Total Wines.

I am not sure if they will be at the price you want but check out the Hampton Inn in downtown Miami. Their price does include a nice breakfast.

Intercontinental right on the water you can see the ships. There are also restaurants and shopping a very short walk along the water right at the hotel. Not sure about the cost of the hotel anymore. We used to get a pre-cruise deal for about $199.

Another great area is Coconut Grove very lively at night, lots of restaurants and shopping in the area.

There is also South Beach which has a lot of nice restaurants and a fun area to be in.
