Hilton Buenos Aires

We are considering Hilton Buenos Aires for a pre-cruise stay in December. Can anyone tell me if it is safe to walk from the hotel to Plaza de Mayo? Thanks.

We've done it - no problem. However, always the two of us together, and in the daytime. Take the usual precautions, no flashy jewelry or watches, etc.

 

The Hilton is very near some nice restaurants, including Las Lilas. We walked from the hotel up to Cafe Tortoni on Avenida de Mayo for lunch. It's a special place to visit.

When you walk around daytime or evening you just need to be street smart.

 

Leave valuables in the hotel safe and use a travel wallet.

Is it safe to leave valuables in the hotel safe? I've heard stories of items stolen from the room??

I've never had a problem at any hotel we've stayed at. Sure if certain staff wanted to get in there they could but we have not had a problem. If you are worried about it then have them lock it in a safe that would be at the back of the reception desk.
