mrlupin Posted November 25, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) I'm on the phone with my travel agent and Princess. We are being offerend an upgrade to a family suite D-106 or D-105. We are booked in a mini-suite and an inside cabin for our family of 8. Should we do it? The balcony is twice the size and the square footage is about 56 sq. ft. less than the combined 2 suites. Each of the suites we currently are booked with sleep 4. The family suite does also but sleeping is on sofabeds. Edit - just learned the single beds have upper berths that drop down. Rare JimmyVWine Posted November 25, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 25, 2013 The FS are all the way forward and you may not be able to use the balcony while under way due to wind. You may want to inquire about that.

mrlupin Posted November 25, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted November 25, 2013 Much thanks to each of your for your quick responses! I asked for and received a couple hours to decide. So, I can do a little more research. The only thing keeping me from making the change right now is the wind issue. I would hate to have a balcony that I can't use while sailing. That said, I don't mind a little wind but the family might. I heard that Princess was at one point going to try to do something about the wind (in the link that was posted) and I'm on the phone with Princess to see. If that's taken care of then I'm inclined to accept the offer.

mrlupin Posted November 25, 2013 Author #8 Share Posted November 25, 2013 How many bathrooms will you have in the family suite? It has two. The one in the mini-suite portion has a full bathroom (bathtub/shower comode, etc.) and the other side has a 3/4 bathroom (no bathtub).
