Do I need a travel money card?

I wouldn't think so, sounds like them trying to sign you up to fill a quota.

Credit card and cash will be all you need.

I just did a 14 day Fiji Adventure and all I took was my one card and a couple of hundred dollars. My MasterCard was accepted everywhere except for the small islands where I took cash ashore. $AUD accepted everywhere and they even gave change most places.

We are off to cruise New Zealand next week. I have NZ$, an Aussie debit card and a credit card. The bank is trying to persuade me to get a travel money card. Is it really necessary?

Advice appreciated

You should be fine. Apart from getting $us before we travel to the USA, we always get local money from atm's with our credit card. The rates are usually pretty good.
