If you have ever taken a complimentary cruise on Celebrity, whether it be from the casino Blue Chip program or by invitation from the art dealer or from a bingo prize, etc. Did you receive your Captains Club credit for that sailing?

No you don't get points for free cruises.

I know this as one of my cruises showed zero points so i called and they told me it was because it was a free cruise. Trouble is I never had a free cruise in my life. I actually thought they were kidding. I need to have paper work showing I paid. I did find my credit card bill so I will see if that works.

Now will they give me that free cruise when I showed them I paid for it? Lol

Yes, every free cruise we,ve taken for our participation in the Blue Chip Club is listed and the points have been awarded to us. The casinos on cruise ship are not owned by the cruise line and the casino pays the line for the cabins at a deeply discounted rate. The free cruises are typically during very slow booking times.

I have travelled free as a "guest" of an entertainer on several cruises and I have never received a captains club credit for those cruises.

I must respectfully disagree. We've taken a number of Blue Chip Club free cruises and we did not get cruise credit. And, while not run by Celebrity per se, Royal Caribbean owns the casinos on all their ships, so it's not an outside business. A man by the name of Speery oversees the casino out of their offices in Miami.

The reason I asked was we've taken 5 or 6 "free" Blue Chip cruises on Celebrity and always received our Captains Club points. But our last cruise on the Summit shows in our cruise history but with 0 points. I emailed and was told no points for free cruise. I'm trying to figure out exactly what the rule is or if it's one of those things so common on Celebrity that the rule changes depending on who you talk to.

This is what I think I've figured out. Blue Chip normally comps us a balcony cabin, and we regularly then pay a little to upgrade to aqua or suite and we receive the Captains Club credits. On the last 0 point cruise we were comped Aqua class and did not upgrade thus no points. But I could be wrong.
