Just Confirmed- Free Cruise on the Breeze

It's in the fine print that they exclude "non-revenue" fares.

4. Earn VIFP Points

Members in good standing will receive one (1) VIFP Point for each day cruised (each a “Day”) on a cruise operated by CCL (a “Cruise”), based on published length of sailing. VIFP Points are rewarded for Days actually consumed by a Member, not for reserved Days in the future. VIFP Points may not be awarded for certain charters and/or non-revenue fares, as reasonably determined by CCL.

Still a good deal as long as you dont give them your winnings back.

I'll be in the Glory next week (7 nights) and it is 100% free, including taxes and even tips. Not part of a casino deal or a customer complaint. :)

Just returned from a Carnival Cruise on the Conquest- this was a free cruise for my hubby and myself in a balcony. Received a letter back in September and it was free, plus it was legit.

At the end of this cruise, I received a letter about another free cruise. YAHOO! So what if I gamble! Just because someone gambles, doesn't mean they have a problem. I enjoy a good vacation. I cruise to have fun. I enjoy my life. Will Carnival get money from me in the casino, yes, so be it. I will continue to cruise, continue to gamble in the casino, continue to but shoes and shop etc.. Am I thrilled, yup! Better believe it. Do I drink, no, do I go out to dinner every night, no, am I frugal when not on vacation, yes. If my only vice in life is to gamble when on a cruise ship a few times a year, then all is okay.

I have read a number of negative comments from people, be happy for someone else, don't burst our bubbles and if you want to discuss gambling problems, I am sure you can find another blog to do it in. There is also one for drinking issues, eating issues, and a host of other disorders. Go there to discuss it. Just say congrats, I'm happy for you.

Nothing wrong with gambling as long as they dont let it destroy their lives. Enjoy.

Hello fellow Iowan!! Congrats on the free cruise! I am going on my first cruise in February that I won in a drawing at my local casino :) I have to pay port fees and tips but I think it is a great deal for a 7 night balcony room! There is a group of us traveling together from 3 Midwest casinos. Didn't think I was going to play much on the cruise but you never know :D Can't wait!!!

I hadn't been on a Carnival cruise since 2010, so when I got the letter in August, I was a bit skeptical.

We were on the Pride 11/17-11/24 in a balcony on the Veranda deck and our total cost was $432. Our S&S however, was much more!

If I am fortunate enough to be offered this again, I'll definitely take them up on it!

Where can I get one one of these free cruises!?!?!?

Give them a bunch of your money.

Well that wouldn't be considered a free cruise, now would it?

Just curious my husband and his friend want to play the tables (dice) on our upcoming cruise. How do they get free drinks and how much would you need to spend for a free cruise? Just curious??

I was told on a previous cruise that you needed to wager $1500.00 to get the free drink card. Wager, that is, not loose.

I started the first night putting down $1000. I won over $1400. But the second night, I started with $500 and won almost $1900 that night. It wasn't until the third night that they gave me the drink card. I suppose the tracking of my buy-in did not get recorded till sometime the next day.

I did loose my $500 buy-in each time the next 3 nights, but hit it big on the second to last day of the cruise (over $5,000 that night). I think they want another crack at me.

Hawk - do you know about how long you played the first two nights? Craps is a good way to get the drink card if you know how to minimize the house edge. I'm guessing you were taking full odds and playing a few comes? In Vegas they don't count the odds bet for your rating, not sure about Carnival.

I have a system that seems to work for me.

Place bet 6 and 8. First hit on 6 or 8, press your bet. Next time it hits, take in the money (you get your money off the table that way).

Every time it hits after that, press it up 1 unit on that number. Press up to a certain level you feel comfortable with, and then take it down to original bet. Start over again with the press.

I start at $30 each and press to $150. You need to have a big enough bankroll to survive the lows, but when that 1 good roll comes every 10 rollers, you make out big. If you time it right and hit it big right off the bat, leave when you double up or triple up. Get a rack full of chips, set aside what you started with and every increment of that AGAIN. DON'T GO BACK INTO YOUR SET ASIDE RACK.

That sounds like a great system, and I am sure Carnival was counting the full value of the place bet towards your player rating.

Sounds to me like you didn't get just one free cruise - you got two or three because you walked off with house money.

I'm on the Valor in 3 weeks, hoping I can repeat your good play!

All gamblers only tell you when they win. I know I gamble. I do the same. I am not a big gambler but am definitely down in the long run. Most won't admit that. I don't play enough to get free drinks because it's cheaper just to pay for the drinks. Also I don't play that much.

This is why I never started playing poker professionally. I'd like to think of myself as a fairly good poker player. I just don't have the risk tolerance for the variance and swings. I keep track of my play, not since day one, but for the past 6 years or so, and I am up overall, by quite a bit (relatively), but there are times there when I took really big dips. If I played professionally, it would be at least 10X the frequency I played now, and the big dips would hurt a lot more since they would happen in the span of a day or two, vs. a month or two.

Takes a strong stomach to be able to play through a dip and trust in the odds, your game and your ability.

Of course poker is a completely different game from gambling, and much more reliant on sound play vs. blind luck.

As a relatively new dice player, when you say you place a bet on 6 and 8, do you bet the come line first? I know this isnt a gambling related thread, so sorry for bumping it off topic. Craps is the first casino game I have gotten really excited playing and want to know all about it now. lol.

I have a friend who plays a very similar system and he says it does well for him. I am too cheap and don't have the tolerance for the variance that dice introduces. in other words, Too much luck involved for me, and I am too cheap!

I did have fun one night in vegas playing dollar craps very late one night at the old Westward Ho. It was probably 3am or so and a buddy of mine and I played on 100 dollars between the two of us for at least an hour or more. We ended up ahead about 300 dollars after all was said and done. We bought a bottle of wine, sat and smoked cigars at like 5am then went to bed.

I have never been able to replicate that experience again. Now my 100 dollars evaporates in about 5 minutes with nothing to show for it.
Not rubbing it in, but has this ever happened to others here?

Usually when something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. But I was given a letter from the casino last day of the cruise we just got done with last week. It was offering a free 3 day to 8 day cruise.

My first thought was.... Free?, right! For me maybe, but would have to pay for my wife. With airfare and her cruise fare, it would not exactly be free. Or cruise would be limited to certain weeks.
But I checked it out anyway, and the whole room is free, for her and me. And a spring break week and on one of the best ships!

All I pay it the government fees and I included trip protection- a whole $354.80 for an 8 day cruise on the Breeze.

Sure, I gambled a lot on the last cruise, but I did come home with more money than I took, so I really didn't pay for the free one. Just hope I can repeat the last performance.

Many others ever get free cruises with no restrictions like this?
My wife and I just returned from a free 7 day casino cruise! Scored a lido deck balcony for just taxes!

Not sure if we will ever see another but will keep our fingers crossed!

Enjoy your freebie! :D

 • 2 weeks later...
Free cabin for two with a variety of choices from 4 to 8 days and a small fee for balcony. WOOHOO! Thank you Ocean Players Club. Now to decide who to take with me and which destination.
Just booked the Legend ( 7 days) for me and my sister...we upgraded to a balcony and with port charges...it was 172 each for a 2000 cruise. Amazing. I love you Ocean Players Club. I lost a total of 500 on my last cruise which turns out to be a good investment on my future cruise. Plus I had a blast losing that 500. :D

Not $1,500., but 1,500 points for the drink card. A point is awarded for each $4-5 (can't remember which) spent.
