Hobscheshire Posted December 1, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2013 Hi We are on Azura for the Xmas cruise (not long now, wehey!). We are in our early 40s. We have seen that there is dancing in the Atrium but presume this is ballroom dancing (not really our thing). We've seen the approx timing of the shows but after the shows/bar acts, is there a nightclub or do the bars stay open and play fairly up-to-date music etc? What time does everything go on until? We are not ravers or anything but wouldn't mind a quite late night here and there. Also, have seen some conflicting info re what time breakfast finishes, was wondering whether we can get breakfast somewhere after the times that are mentioned on the website, it seems to be until 9.30am? Just in case we did miss this breakfast deadline once or twice (after a very late night as mentioned above)! - is there a 24hr buffet or is there a time between breakfast and lunchtime where you can't get any food? Thanks
tartanexile81 Posted December 1, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 1, 2013 We're fans of Azura so hope you enjoy your cruise. Breakfast in the main dining room usually closes about 9:30 on sea days and 9:00 (sometimes even 8.30) on port days. Like you we're very rarely up and about very early! There are two buffet restaurants on the Azura and they're pretty much open all morning with the Verona serving hot food till about 11:30 and the Venezia not quite as long. There's also places (like Java) where you can just grab a coffee and a snack if you prefer that all day but it's Costa Coffee and that would be charged to your account. We usually eat at 8.30p.m. so we then go to the show till 11.15 or 11:30 and after that there's usually something else in one of the cabaret lounges - perhaps a tribute act or vocalist. There will always also be a band somewhere at the same time then to round off the night the DJ will play music so you can dance the night away :). One of the reason we like Azura is that there's a better choice of entertainment than other ships.

top golfer Posted December 2, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 2, 2013 the Manhattan is the nightclub and the disco is on between acts from 7.30pm onwards and at around midnight right through until at least 4.30am, well that is when we left on our last cruise. :D the music is up to date and no matter what time it is, if you want a drink they won't shut the bar, you will love it. Hobscheshire Posted December 2, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted December 2, 2013 Hi again, thanks very much for all your replies, very useful info. All sounds great, looks like we are in for the odd late one then! Also, Jaydonny, thanks for the links to the Horizon brouchures, was great to see the kind of things on offer. My husband was expecting to miss all the footie matches so was pleased when he spotted he might be able to catch the odd match here and there on the Seascreen if we happen to be on the ship that day. Cheers everyone, getting v excited....only 12 days to go...... :D

Of course with being in the Caribbean they will be 6 hours earlier. BTW it is also easy to avoid them as well as there will be plenty other things to do.
