Thread to keep track of upsells

I haven't seen a thread compiling on upsells, so I wanted to start one to have one place to get the information. Information that I am thinking is pertinent is as follows:

1) Ship and length of cruise

2) How many days before the cruise were you called?

3) number of people sailing

4) Cabin type you were booked in and deck

5) upsell offer cabin type and price

 

For example, this is our current upsell offer. We declined because the jr suites on the fantasy ships are nothing to write home about IMO.

1) Paradise 5 nt western carribean

2) 5

3) 2 in OV and 3 in inside

4)1 OV and 1 inside across from each other deck U

5) Jr. Suite next to each other on verandah deck for $300/cabin

I didn't get a call for my Glory Cruise this past November, but I got one for my Breeze Cruise in January...I think I remember most of the details:

 

1) Breeze 6 day Caribbean

2) Not positive...sometime in the week prior. 5-7 days maybe?

3) 2

4) Deluxe OV on Deck 1

5) Upsell to a Balcony, not sure what deck, $300 total for cabin

 

We didn't end up taking it, though we maybe should have. I just wanted to keep costs down as much as possible.

5) Upsell to a ocean suite, Empress Deck, $490 for cabin

 

Did not accept. If the price was lower I may have accepted. There are a lot of suites left, including the grand suites. If the offer significantly drops, I would consider.

6) Offered Ocean Suite on Deck 7 for $440 total

Declined because other passenger has some mobility issues so being on Lido will be very convenient for daily fun.

Declined again because other passenger has some mobility issues so being on Lido will be very convenient for daily fun.

 

That said, if I get an offer for my Pride cruise, I wouldn't mind upgrading from my Aft Balcony to an OS.

i hope these aren't too old to be of use, calls were in January 2013

 

1- Freedom 8 day southern

2- 2 weeks prior to sailing

3- 2 people

4- deck 7 aft, extended view

5- 8th deck, one of those suites with the bathtub and double balcony. $1200

 

we did not book because we don't like rooms on the side of the ship and the upwell seemed really outrageous, we book the back for a reason. It was also somewhat close to elevators so we expected it would have been a noisy upgrade not to mention I didn't look to see what was right above.

I'm not positive, but I thought it was a downgrade, but again, we don't like rooms on the side of the ship.

Carnival Called tonight( night prior to embarkation) to Try to UpSell us.

 

We had booked our cabin as a normalcy. Well usually with/through a ASTA Agent. This time through a RUDE ( IMHO) PVP, of Carnival.

 

We just got a call on the Landline before to try to UpSell us on a larger Balcony going aft near the stern one.

 

Not a UpGrade Fairy/Wizard as before they have done but a Money Hungry Carnivalian woman from Florida trying to add more revenues ..

 

Why would we want to PAY a lot more, have not the cabin we have already listed/paid in full for , have in Emergency, business, friends and family contacts already given. FAXED etc.. ON THE LAST PACKING/PREP NIGHT?

I don't think they hit the TA market. If they did, your TA would get the call not you.
