Best Tour for wildlife?

Hi everyone

 

We have seen lots of tours that mention trips into the forest and along canals, but we would like a wildlife trip.

 

None of the tours we have seen detail how long we would get to spend looking at animals and creatures. There always seems to be banana plantation visits or tram rides or whatever.

 

Has anyone got experience of what they might think will suit our wants.

We are docking in Puntarenas and have hired a private guide to take us Birding (and small mammal watching) in Carara National Park and surrounding area. We opted not to do a tour which was a bit of this and a bit of that.

We would also like to see as many animals as we can
