Bowler Lady Posted December 28, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 28, 2013 Why do aft location cabins seem to book faster than forward? I have stayed in the forward cabins and was quite comfortable.
wineforhealth Posted December 28, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 28, 2013 I love the privacy and views from the back. It's also nice to view where you have been.

Nothing at all wrong with forward cabins; but I've found the aft balconies are generally less windy. Also the ride is a little smother; and I love the purrrr of the engines and the whoosh of the wake. And you have a wider angle view from the aft balconies. Vexorg Posted December 28, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 28, 2013 I've also found that at times there can be more noise in the front part of the ship from things like rough seas.
Gunner22aa Posted December 28, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 28, 2013 First they are very private. Very little hallway traffic back there other than the residents and the staff. Secondly for the most part they have some of the biggest balconies on the ship. The wake view can't be beat. There is a reason a lot of cruise ships place their most expensive suites on the stern. We only sail aft and if we can't get an aft suite we find another cruise
paul929207 Posted December 28, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 28, 2013 My wife gets sick if she is out in the wind, so we avoid the cabins at the very front.
dorisis Posted December 28, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 28, 2013 Most aft cabins have larger balconies. We prefer midship for convenience.
IdahoCruises Posted December 28, 2013 #8 Share Posted December 28, 2013 We had an aft suite on our cruise in Oct. to Hawaii. Very large, private balcony with no wind. Great furniture. Great views of the wake and most ports as we were sailing away. Ride was smooth except for a couple of days when the ship rocked side to side. Pam in CA Posted December 28, 2013 #9 Share Posted December 28, 2013 I much prefer the aft section of the ship. It depends on the ship but for me, it's more convenient to Skywalker's, the dining room, Adagio Lounge, and the buffet. I'd take an aft cabin over mid-ship any time. Times Prince Posted December 29, 2013 #11 Share Posted December 29, 2013 Why do aft location cabins seem to book faster than forward? I have stayed in the forward cabins and was quite comfortable.assuming by "aft" you mean the aftmost 1/3 of the ship as shown in the newer Princess deck plans, we prefer this area. This 1/3 of the ship is closer to most casual dining and promenade deck venues, and many believe there is less pitching motion, being nearer to the propellers driving the ship. The drawback to this area is more vibration at times from the engines/drive system, and at times balconies can have smoke exhaust from the engines. Then there is Princess pricing, which can make the aft 1/3 attractive. :)
