O2B@Cagain Posted January 2, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 2, 2014 BLUE Beard's is the hotel/time share. BLACK Beard's is a different "tourist trap." :p
Ms411 Posted January 3, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 3, 2014 Blackbeard's reopened recently after doing renovations. It was better before, imo. No amber museum. Rum factory closed. One less house. No historic talk at end. Pirate statues now inside gift shop. No artist. No free rum punch.
trish1c Posted January 3, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 3, 2014 BLUE Beard's is the hotel/time share. BLACK Beard's is a different "tourist trap." :p Well I was close. . . . I knew one of them wanted to suck me into a very expensive time share. :D Silly pirates.
debcruise Posted January 3, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 3, 2014 Thanks for the update on this -- I was considering this as an excursion -- but I see now that it would be a waste. Thanks for saving me some $$$$ -- perhaps I'll just take a cab to a beach - any suggestions?
trish1c Posted January 3, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 3, 2014 We went to Megan's Bay last time. It was pretty enough. . . lots of locals. Had I been able to bring my chair & a cooler I would have been thrilled. There were chairs for rent; I don't remember the price but it wasn't cheap. There was also some sort of bar where you could buy drinks & lunch.
tvan76 Posted January 28, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 28, 2014 I am planning on taking my family of 7 (2 adults and 5 girls) to Black Beard's when we are in port on the 11th of Feb .. at $10 pp and kids under 12 free for the full tour, it's a great, inexpensive way to kill a couple of hours .. :p
