Little Nell Posted January 10, 2014 #76 Share Posted January 10, 2014 My husband sometimes wears a linen jacket to travel and he has worn that in the past to captain's night with shirt and tie
geomagot Posted January 10, 2014 #77 Share Posted January 10, 2014 jacket and tie is fine, in fact thoms dont insist on a tie even on formal night (there is a reasonably good turnout of dj's on formal night tho) only rule: no shorts, vests, sandals in mdr in evening (lunchtimes is ok)
happy v Posted January 10, 2014 #78 Share Posted January 10, 2014 Surely it's no vests anytime.:eek:
Jakanne1 Posted January 10, 2014 #79 Share Posted January 10, 2014 When I booked our cruise and stay for the Med in September my DH said he was definitely not taking his DJ or a suit this time. He will wear a dark pair of trousers and a smart shirt or a white shirt and bow tie  Such a lot of men did not wear a jacket on our last cruise. We went to the Jubilee Lounge after dinner and when the man sat next to us said he was going to change, DH got up and did the same. I will, however, be following the dress code for Captain's night. :D:)
Wacktle Posted January 12, 2014 #80 Share Posted January 12, 2014 Thanks all! A great relief on the packing front. I wouldn't have minded if there was more than one formal night. However the DJ will remain at home until our next Cunard trip, if any. Phew!
