Alcohol on board azura

Recommended Posts

Yes you can take drinks on board but you will have to buy them airside or pack them in you checked in baggage. Which restaraunts have you in mind? The buffets are aft and higher decks MDRs are midships and down, well 2 out of 3 are, then you have Seventeen, Sindu, and Glasshouse spread out around the ship so all that walking will work up an appetite. Enjoy your cruise

You can take your booze on at any port.

Although the ship is massive everywhere is within a 5 min walk. Or in my case scooter.

Thanks very much sue and phil and daiboy haven't received tickets yet due to a mix up got sent wrong tickets and we go next Saturday arghhh don't know which mar we are in but our cabin is b746 thanks sue and phil do you mean pack drinks prior to airport

Hi again,

Can I ask what are you wanting to take. I would not advise taking any bottles in your luggage because there is a good chance it would break and you would use up a large chunk of your baggage allowance.

If it is gin or whisky you want, you can buy it for the cabin at a reasonable price, £22.00 for standard makes. You would also have a chance to buy it in the dockside duty free in Barbados. Once you have checked in and got on the ship, remembering your cruise card get off again turn right and walk past the ship and there is a shopping area with some duty free booze shops. Unless your plane is very late you ill have time to do this.

This is definitely the best option - lots of choice in that shopping area, great prices too....and saves all the hassle of overloading your luggage and praying/hoping for gentle baggage handlers! :)

Hi,

If your flight is delayed buy your booze in the duty free at the airport. You can take it on board in your hand luggage. This is cheaper than PO prices on board for in cabin drinking.

Do not wait until you are on the plane as they are not allowed to sell you duty free booze or tobacco.

Have a great cruise.

Sue

No problem taking alcohol on board. When flying out to the Caribbean we usually buy a bottle of Pimms (wonderful for lunch time drink in the Caribbean and you can only buy it by the glass on board) and a bottle of gin. St. Maarten is a good place for buying cheap alcohol. When you are on the plane they will tell you that they can't sell you duty free as you are not allowed to take it on the plane - ignore that, yes you can't buy it on the plane but you can take it on when you have bought it airside at the airport.

There is a duty free shop on board but if you buy from there you can't collect it until the end of the cruise. You can buy spirits etc. via your cabin steward or room service but these are not duty free prices. Even so the prices are quite reasonable. Sometimes towards the end of the cruise there will be special offers from the duty free shop but if you are flying back you can't take it through security at the airport. I know some people risk packing bottles in their hand luggage but I wouldn't risk it.

One of the best duty free areas we found was called smoke and booze in st kitts on the left has you go through main port terminal. $6 for a bottle of mojito cheapest we seen. Stock up there if it's on your cruise. also wine was cheaper in there than any of the other islands we stopped in. Mount gay rum a bargain in the barbados terminal as well

  • 3 weeks later...

My husband is such a wino that we have a special case for wine (it's guaranteed against all things except sharks, bears and small children) and we've never had trouble taking this on board full to bursting with booze- either in the uk or abroad.

We sail from Southamptom on Arcadia.....can we take alcohol on with us? Better in hand luggage or large case? Thanks....never gone from Southampton before always flown.

Definitely hand luggage. The cases do get some moving around you do not want a bottle broken in your case

Hi Jazzer I don't know what your tipple is, but if you are partial to dark navy rum visit the Pussers pub on the Main Street on Tortola you can try a Painkiller Cocktail in the bar, they will ask you 1,2,3 etc shots this relates to how many measures you want in it. They have a shop at the rear of the bar where you can buy the rum, a bottle costs a minimum of £25 in the UK and costs $15 in Tortola, the 15 year old is about £50 in the UK $20 in Tortola.

Have a great cruise.
