Skier52 Posted January 5, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2014 We will be sail on the msc Divina 12th January 2014, for 13 nightsCan anyone tell me how many formal nights there will be? This is the official information from the MSC USA web site Casual wear is advised for life on board ship and for the excursions. For informal evenings, we recommend summery dresses for women and a lightweight jacket for men. For the Gala evenings and Parties you may wish to dress more formally, we suggest a dark suit for gentlemen and an evening dress for ladies. For those few formal evenings (one on 4- to 6-night cruises, two on 7- to 11-night cruises, and four on cruises 15 nights or longer) cocktail dresses for the ladies and a lightweight suit, or even dinner jacket for men. It is advisable to have a sweater or shawl handy to be prepared for the changes in temperature between the air-conditioned interior of the ship and the deck areas. For excursions including visits to religious sites we advise appropriate clothing (covered knees and shoulders, no low-cut tops). After 6:00pm, jeans, t-shirts, shorts, and bare feet are not permitted in the ships' public areas. So my guess is THREE as that would seem to fit with cruises of 12 - 14 nights, information for which is missing. This is however at odds with our recent 10 night cruise on OPERA when we had 3 formal nights, as against 2 suggested by the infornation above. (3 x Formal {Gala}; 2 x Themed {1 X White and 1 x Masquerade}; 4 x Casual; 1 x Informal) The sequence was Casual, Casual, Casual, Gala, Informal, Masqerade, Gala, White, Gala, Casual. Maybe European cruises have more formal nights than USA based cruises. Pete

Pete Although I have to say that the first formal night was the "dressiest", there were 3 formal nights on our 11 night Divina cruise recently. Also a red/white/green, flower (hippie type) party and white party. No need to dress up for the last three parties although some passengers did so...Definitely adds to the fun! AmoMondo Posted January 6, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 6, 2014 It depends really of this is a genuine 13 night cruise or has been sold as 2 cruises together. If it's the latter the number will depend on what it is for the 2 separate cruises, so could be 3 or could even be
