Hotel help near Port Everglades

I need some assistance with some affordable hotels near the Port of Ft. Lauderdale. We used to stay at the Embassy Suites or Marriott; the prices have skyrocketed due to the time of year. Any suggestions that are close and near shopping, restaurants?

Holiday Inn Express Convention Center

Hyatt Place Convention Center (look for lower rates on ValueTrips)

This time of the year means high prices.

The next few months are high season down there resulting in the high rates. I agree with Bob, check the Florida Departures Board for info.
