My first Celebrity cruise after 25 cruises on other lines, and it was one of the best cruise experiences I've had. Even won on the slots in the casino.

Thank you. :D

We are real M-class enthusiasts and we also loved our recent Constellation cruises.

Sorry, cut and paste idiot, :o

Formal night on both cruises were Sunday and Thursday evenings

We're in windy Barbados under partly cloudy skies.

Ate at the Normandie last night o

And oh my god was it good! I actually Dreamed about it it was so perfect. The venison was perfect and Joni's rack of lamb delicious.

Our sea day was a bit more typical with few sunbeds available this run by the pool. Top decks were windy and kept the crowds down

The connections party was well attended with the captain coming and staying to chat.

Looking forward to dinner in Blu

A uick question...if you're comfortable asking...do the cash tis to bar staff get pooled, or are they allowed to keep what is handled to each indvidual? ThX!

Sitting at Lobster Alive enjoying the sun and it's still free to get in an $5.00 a beach lounger and five more for the umbrella with half price drinks ($3.00 reg) coupon for each

It's $5.00 ea cab to get here and be warned, we got the last chairs and next door at the Dockyard they were still admitting people AFTER they long had run out of either. ask before forking over $15.00 entry fee

Lobster Alive would not sell broken chairs and stopped selling after ours

Thank you so much for sharing your cruises with us!

We are on the Feb. 1 sailing that includes St. Croix. Could you please share the order of the menus? I know that Sunday and Thursday nights are formal. We are trying to figure out what the menus are for the other nights as we are planning a group reservation at Qsine.

Cheers,

Generally pools are closed in the morning of embarkation day. They open around noon for new passengers arriving. But maintenance issues crop up and you may find one closed. While at sea, if the ship is rolling too much due to high waves the pools will again be closed.

Correct

Chances are that the most one will ever see is one pool or hot tub closed on boarding day only

A bit rainy this morning in St Lucia but it looks like it'll clear

Again last nights meal and today's breakfast in Blu were "fantastic

To the question on how gratuities are divided up. We asked a few servers and all gave the same answers.

Over 90% of the passengers have some sort of " package ". We were told that servers and bartenders who share in the pool of money set aside from the 15% gratuity added to the packages

The more drinks entered by a server/bartender the larger share of the pool each gets

Any additional tip, whether cash or added to a bill (passengers on a package need only ask for a recite to add a tip) go to just that server. It is NOT pooled

At the end if the cruise, those on a package get a print out of their drink purchases (though each covered by the package is zero dollars)

For the first week (Jan 4th sailing) search live update from the Summit

Continuing quick points "live" from hot and sunny Caribbean! (Look for the thread for Jan 4ths sailing posted earlier)

We're on a back-to-back and the turn around day was as easy as they come.

The last night our room attendant changed our bedding and anything we left in the room or the refrigerator stayed untouched. We didn't have to do a thing since we were B2B. No packing, no removing water bottles or our beer stashed in the cabin, nothing. It was like any other day on the ship save that we'd have to do the customs thing Saturday.

A leisurely breakfast before Blu closed at 8:00, (Cosmopolitan and AquaSpa also close at 8:00, the buffet at 8:30) then back to our cabin to await our 10:00 meet at Michael's Club to be escorted through customs and immigration before re-boarding. We planned to stay on the ship, but If we wanted to leave and explore we'd have be ready to go by 9:30.

Final call to disenbarque was at 9:30.

There were about 100 B2Bers and 40 of us decided to just stay on the ship. A transit pass for US Customs was delivered to everyone's cabin the night before, and it took ten minutes to walk off the Summit, walk past customs, re-board, and get our new ship card.

We were given a free pass to have lunch at Bristro at Five.

Now to a few questions:

New passengers began arriving at 11:00 and rooms were ready at 1:00 both the 4 th and the 11th sailings

Ice buckets are not placed in cabins by default, but if you ask they'll supply one.

The adult pool was under maintenance last week and only available the day after departure and today the main pool is being painted.

Don

We are doing back b2b in Nov. If you want to get off by 9:30 to tour the town when do you get your new card? Also what pier were you docked at?

I don't know we did not go ashore and can only say that those who did in a B2B reported a half hour before those remaining on the ship. We were 10 they were 9:30

Lovely day in Antigua warm and sunny!

Not doing much here today but tomorrow goong Americas Cup Yacht racing in St Martin

Any idea how many elites onboard? Where is Elite Lounge? Hours 5-7?

Thanks Don, appreciate your sharing with us!

Doris

I'm not sure how many but it's in Michaels Club

Guess what! There was a live musician at the Sunset bar Thursday at sunset (saw the setup not the act)

A washroom plumbing issue on our floor this morning meant a stroll to a fith floor WC. They were working on it when we left for a walk under warm sunny skies in St Thpmas

Thanks for your reply. Must not be a lot of Elites if the lounge is in Michael's.

Our cabin is above Sunset Bar. Hope if there is music there that it is good! :)

Hope the plumbing issue has been resolved! That can be really bad! Good you were going off the ship.

Who is the Captain and CD now?

When we were on the Summit this summer, we experienced some of the best service I have ever had on a Celebrity ship. I can still remember many names of people who made a very positive impression! Honestly, it makes me want to go on the exact same cruise except I can't find anyone to go with me :(

The captn was Leonardos Palaiokrassas and the cruise director Kyle Dodson. Both were great.

We are on the same itinerary next week so appreciate your review! Did you enjoy the America's Cup yacht racing?

Loved it. Met on the pier at 8:45 and were on the water once every one showed up. We got Stars and Stripes and beat True North handily with our active crew. TN's crew was apparently short of volunteers to preform the tasks and even went with one grinder short.

We're home now, after a okay disembarkation, the line for customs was the only problem as it lasted until almost 10:30am (we were amongst the last dozen in line)

A few pics and a summary to come.

We go out to Accra to Tony's. Great beach and great beach bar. For $15 pp you get a beach chair/umbrella and then $15 in US $$ to spend at the bar for food/drink. So basically you get your chairs/umbrella for free. We love it there. Used to go to the Boatyard, but now that we have found this place, we go there all the time.
