Miss A (world traveler) recovering in Hawaii

Was so sad to hear from Miss A's daughter that A. had to disembark in Hawaii due to a small stroke. Of course Seabourn has provided a rep to be with her while she is in the hospital and if she needs to fly home she'll have someone to accompany her.

And yes, she is a lovely Southern ( from Kentucky but has lived outside Baltimore for many years) lady.

I just so hope she will recovery quickly and be able to rejoin the Sojourn ~no one loves Seabourn and the Crew members more than Miss A.

Thanks for letting us know. I passed her in the hall and at the Square each day and she even came to the Roaring 20's party for those of us on the full world cruise. Truly a gracious and beatiful lady. Hopefully it is not a major episode!!

Received a message from Miss A.s daughter late yesterday ~she was to fly home but talked and convinced those caring for her that she wanted to rejoin the Sojourn.

Hoping she won't have another mini-stroke and will continue her world cruise.

Pardon my ignorance.....can someone tell me who Miss A actually is? I have heard about a lady who spends many months on Seabourn called Mrs W, the W refers to her surname..... is it the same person?

Yes, it's the same lady. Her first name begins with an A. I know our Martita is friends with her, hence refers to her as Miss A, rather than by surname, Mrs W.

 

Oh and I believe she's approaching 3000 nights on Seabourn,not sure how true that is.

Mrs. W (Miss A) is practically a mascot on Seabourn, in a way. Apart from the smoking, she is a very ladylike person; quiet and chats with others only occasionally. I for one was pleased to read that she is back on board and on good form - and I really dislike smoking!

I met Miss A 14 years ago on the Pride and yes, she is very much a quiet, Southern lady and has sailed probably close to 5,000 days (she and Mr & Mrs Cass, from England have many days aboard Seabourn) The Dr. & Nurse or the Pursers usually escort her for cocktails and dinner. If Miss A wrote a book it would indeed be a best seller! Before her husbands death he sailed Seabourn while being in a wheelchair ~she took such good care of him. I so admired her for being a wonderful wife and constant caretaker.

Miss A and her late husband sailed Silversea for many years before they switched to Seabourn ~yes, she will have 3,000 days aboard Seabourn ~wonder how many days she has actually been at sea?

I was amused when I stopped by her "house" # 214 (on the Pride) one morning for coffee and made the ulimate boo boo ~~I sat on the edge at the end of her bed......Lordy, you'd thought I had dropped the black coffee on her laid out silk day outfit! We had sailed together for years and I certainly didn't realize no one was to mess up her brocaded bed throw ~~~her suite is perfection at all times along with her fresh white daylilies brightening the room. She enjoys her stuffed animals on the window ledge ~~her companions.

I could write a novel as to our sailing adventures and "stunts!"

We were seated near Mrs. W at lunch one day and over heard Pierre (the Cruise Sales specialist) who was with her - along with an Officer - telling her she would have 3000 days before the end of the World Cruise. We also know, and are very fond of, Mr. & Mrs. C. - a lovely couple who also have many days on-board (look forward to meeting up with them again). It is my understanding that the days on-board record passes back and forth between the two.

Nomads

Mr & Mrs Cass are certainly favorites ~by guests & crews. We've sailed together for many years. Once on a Pride TA I recall I hosted a "Texas Dinner" in the card room for 13 guests ~ decorations, party favors, etc. During dinner, Mr Cass decided he wanted to be a Western rangler ~instead I gave him a Sheriff Badge! (The Captain and Staff Captain both wanted to be law enforcers as well)The same Transatlantic Mrs Cass enjoyed a big birthday ~~again, another festive dinner in the card room. Ohhhh those were truly, "the good 'ole days." What wonderful memories we all share!
