Karencruiser43 Posted January 12, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2014 Can anybody spend time at H20 or is it just for the Haven suites. Also on the website it says there is a batting cage but I just read a thread that said there isn't one on board the Epic, can somebody confirm that for me please. Thank you!!! Rare KeithJenner Posted January 12, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2014 (edited) Spice H2O is for over 18s only. Nothing to do with the Haven. I've never noticed a batting cage on the Epic, but I've never looked for one. Edited January 12, 2014 by KeithJenner
Partyatsea Posted January 12, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2014 (edited) Above poster is correct, H20 is for over 18 and open to all who are. As for the batting cage, Dec. 2012 they set it up on the basketball court on port days. It was kinda disappointing as it took the kid a long time to find your strike zone and the bats were tiny. I know I dented the bat a few times and rung my hands real bad on one hit. It was however no charge (included) so I wasn't about to complain. dans0202 Posted January 13, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 13, 2014 Regarding the batting cages nothing has changed during the last year. On Epic in December 2013 they offered it a few times on the BB court. Only three or four people tried it the day I was there. They had a great deal of trouble setting the pitch speed and distance. The distance was just a few feet from the machine. One teenager destroyed both 27 inch bats and that ended it (it was not his fault as the equipment offered did not match the speed the ball was traveling at and his size). I think the idea was for just kids to use the pitching machine given the equipment offered but the pitch speed was too high for my 13 year old (who plays hardball) to make contact and as I said the older kids were too strong and destroyed the bats with just a few swings. The activity is a great idea just needs a bit more common sense in the execution.
