Bobsled with kids help please!

We are considering booking the Dunns River Falls and either just the sky ride or the bobsledding. We have 2 children who will be 8 and 11 at the time of travel.

 

Can anyone tell me if this would be appropriate for the 8 year old (she is 49 inches tall)? She does like small roller coasters as a point of reference but is not a huge daredevil. Older child Im certain would love it!

 

Any insight would be helpful. If I am too uncertain we will just do the skyride, which Im sure will be enjoyed by all anyways!

Just check on the website as there was a height restriction (can't remember off the top of my head what it was?), but our kids loved the bobsled. You can travel down in pairs if you wish. I'm not very adventurous and so went in a cart with my DH - actually, they tie the two carts together and the front driver has all the controls ;). It's good fun, so I'm sure she'd be okay providing she's tall enough :).

The bobsled ride is a blast. The kids will love it.

 

You take the skyway up to the top of the mountain. They have gift shops, bar, restaurant, aviary, and pool up there too.

 

The bobsled ride starts at the top and goes about half way down. The ride then brings you right back to the top. Then you take the skyway back down to the bottom of the hill.

Yes it would be fine for an 8 year old. I was there last month again for the tenth time.Love it!

You control the speed and they have cameras set up to determine when to send the next person down so you dont need to worry. It is attached to a track and a canopy closes down over your legs. There will be one problem that you probably wont like:eek: The excursion is for only one ride and your 8 year old will want to ride again:D I get the 5 extra rides for $44 I think.They do sell a 3 ride pack to.
