How are the HAL mattresses working out?

A few months ago, several CCers said they had ordered the "Mariner's Dream" bed from the HAL shop online. Some family members are shopping for mattresses now and am wondering how you all like the pillow-top that Sealy makes for HAL. Is it just as comfortable as you remember your stateroom bed to be? How was the delivery and setup? And, do you know if you can still order the beds? If you go to www.hollandamericashop.com, you get a "coming soon" page and there doesn't seem to be a "shop" link on the regular HAL site. But www.hollandamericashop.com/index.cfm seems to be an active site.

Thanks in advance,

Susan

We hope to find out Tuesday night!

Purchased a HAL mattress as our new King set in our new Master bedroom. It arrived after a few weeks and we were still painting etc. Carpet goes in Tuesday morning and we hope to be sleeping on it Tuesday night. We promise to let you know how it goes.:)

Up until now, all I could do is look thru the plastic at it longingly! ;)

Does anyone know if HAL sells the mattress alone - sans box spring?

Brian, I purchased the a Cal. King mattress with NO Box Spring. The total cost was $839.30 with delivery and set up. We have had now over a month and absolutely love it. When we got to our cabin on the Maasdam we just had to pull back the sheets and see the mattress, sure enough it was identical and they just use a noraml mattress pad. The sheets they use on HAL are an extremely high quality 250 thread count, we have 400 thread count for our sheets at home and really do not feel that much different. It was nice to come home from the ship and have the same great mattress.:) Now I just wish we had Tiar our Cabin Steward who was so efficient.
