Lollygil Posted January 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2014 Its our first time on the Sky---short cruise. Please tell me what to expect, and any insight or tips...!! Do they have the white hot party and formal nights? What night is Lobster Night?
garycarla Posted January 16, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2014 I would suggest checking out the reviews for the Sky. You will find lots there. Also, hit the Roll Call - though the shorter cruises have less activity.
pizza123 Posted January 16, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2014 I haven't seen many reviews and there isn't a roll call for our sailing, but I can report back when we return.
Alliezona09 Posted January 16, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 16, 2014 Lobster night is the very first night~ in the MDR~ NCL does not have formal nights but there is a night that you can dress up in you choose and get pictures taken, and I didn't go to the White Hot party, was in the casino~ If you want a quiet place to eat go to Longboards across from the buffet~ aft~ always a table open~

pizza123 Posted January 24, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 24, 2014 There isn't any lobster, prime rib or shrimp served in the complimentary dining rooms on the Sky.
david_sobe Posted January 24, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 24, 2014 I hope you do the 4 night instead of the 3 night because they are the same price. The 3 night is sort of the Miami weekend getaway known as the "booze cruise." I also love stopping in Freeport although most don't like that port. Freeport is not over developed and has only 1 or 2 ships in dock at any day. I have been on the Sky twice and really love the ship. She is not that small but efficient in what she delivers. The cruise is very port intensive, waking up in a different port every day. So without sea days, you don't run out of things do to on the ship. Check out Cagneys steakhouse for a great meal and the Plantation club for a fantastic martini.
shelly11 Posted January 24, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 24, 2014 I love the Sky, been on her three times. I have a review in my signature.
sassyshar Posted January 25, 2014 #9 Share Posted January 25, 2014 Just to clarify from previous post, Surf & Turf is served in the Main Dining Room on the first night. I was on the SKY 6 weeks ago, it was the 4 night cruise and it was definitely on the menu. A steak is always available in at least one of the two MDR at all times. Have been on 4 SKY cruises in the last 3 years, and you won't be disappointed. Older, smaller ship that has character. Enjoy yourself

jdvmd Posted January 26, 2014 #11 Share Posted January 26, 2014 Been on the Sky twice in the last two years. Very enjoyable time! Yes, there is a White Hot Party. Try LeBistro. No formal night. You can wear whatever you like.
