agc291 Posted January 17, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 17, 2014 is raw......are barely..or I would not eat it Thats what sushi is... I am not sure about the Magic- but if they do it is for a fee at Bonsai Sushi. Unfortunately, Carnival has removed most if not all of the free sushi carts and replaced them with the Taste Bar.

I never saw it. Sailing Magic again next week so will look for it again, and try to let you know.

agc291 Posted January 18, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 18, 2014 I will look for it in the buffet as well on my cruise on the Victory. It seems to be hit or miss. For every person that says that it was there, another 5 say they never saw it. I am very disappointed about them taking the sushi carts. We went every night it was open. We're looking to sail on the Valor on June 1st. Edited January 18, 2014 by pkkghfn

hilltopfamily Posted March 23, 2014 #11 Share Posted March 23, 2014 Last week I looked for it on the Dream buffet. I was told that they discontinued it. Extremely disappointed......it may sound silly, but this is one of "those experiences" for me and DH on a cruise.....we never ever miss it as it's just one of those things we don't do at home and a DOD with sushi is an essential part of our cruise experience. Why get rid of it? It was always a very popular spot with lines of people waiting! My upcomin "Dream" cruise just got a little tarnished.

Serving raw and undercooked seafood that sits out in a buffet......with or without the disclaimer?? Probably not a good idea in the long run. I, by the way, love sushi. Probably not a good idea in the long run. I, by the way, love sushi. The sushi used to be served around 5:30pm to 8pm daily and was made while you waited. It was not at the buffet. There was a little cart near the casino on most ships. Bill

mikefast Posted March 23, 2014 #15 Share Posted March 23, 2014 We were on the Magic last month, and we didn't see any sushi. I asked and they said they didn't have it anymore. There was an electric sign, "Sushi and more", but they said that they used to serve it but no more
cruise n' fool Posted March 23, 2014 #16 Share Posted March 23, 2014 I was on the Breeze in January and they had the bonsai sushi. It cost a bit extra but it much cheaper than going out for a roll anywhere. $4 for rolls like spicy tuna and $6 for fancier rolls. Sashimi was $2 per piece depending on fish. Its a limited menu but we ate there a lot the rolls were so good!! If we didn't finish we could take back to our room for a snack later and we got it to go a few times. Oh how I miss it! crewsnews Posted March 23, 2014 #17 Share Posted March 23, 2014 If you are one ship with the "Fish and Chips" shop, I think they sometimes have some type of sushi available.

gymmom3 Posted March 24, 2014 #19 Share Posted March 24, 2014 I just got back from the Valor and there is NO sushi to be found. We asked about it and were told it was discontinued. The taste bar is not a very good replacement for sushi, that's for sure. They did have a sushi app one night in the dining room that was so small you couldn't even taste it, lol.
CarnivalPlatCruiser Posted March 24, 2014 #20 Share Posted March 24, 2014 Not all sushi is raw... The items on the buffet is generic sushi, not of the raw variety, so its ok... Sadly seems this is just another thing that used to be free, that Carnival is now charging for in the 2.0 downgrade... I mean upgrade... lol Now they are opening PAID sushi eateries.
