  1. porter prices often are much more expensive than even Air Canada.
  2. do you not understand how permissions work on apps (and you can disable any/all) or just uninstall it after you submit? you don't neeed to keep the app installed. apps are sandboxed
  3. princess is selling your data regardless. how is it any different if princess outsources someone else to do it when you apply via email? there's no difference. don't apply if you're so concerned. the app you can uninstall or give it no permissions. no difference if you're emailing pdf of your account with account number redacted to pricness or into the app. at least with the app, you don't have to give a new statement each time

  5. if ships are like buildings, the new stuff especially in first year or two have highest chance of breaking down, much moreso than older equipment. there's usually a sweet spot around 5-15yrs for chillers in multi unit buildings i find but if had to choose/predict, i'll choose older over brand new (~2yrs or less) for reliability
  6. i've stayed at hotels/resorts where the ac was broken and took them a couple of days to fix. it sucks but it happens.
  7. you called to cancel the excursion ($200pp) and they offered you $400obc? why don't you just cancel the excursion then? you can do it online if it's more than 3 days out from the cruise
  8. just checked my cruise personalizer for Sky princess in May and still $39 pp for Catch by Rudi and Crown Grill and $35 for Sabatini's maybe yours is showing different currency and not usd?
  9. how did they not provide the service? they booked your flight. your flight was cancelled by the airline and you made alternate arrangements on your own what is your problem exactly? i read your wall of text twice and still don't see what problem you think you have? is it because they didn't pick up the call in 5mins like southwest? that was the only "problem" that i got.
  10. credit can go back to cancelled cards..i do it all the time. if you still do business with that bank, they just transfer it to your account or another cc. if no more business, they mail you a check
  11. on andorid, you can use the hotspot feature on the phone and share wifi connection to other devices. i did that on my CP cruise in september
  12. I was on CB in Sept 2023 for a New England/Atlantic Canada Cruise and it was great. I really like the updated world market/buffet area, the ship was in great condition and service in the dining room was excellent especially after our 3rd night we had a server team we really liked and the hosts told us to just walk in and they'll always have table ready for us with them. the only "complaint" is that the service in the buffet is inconsistent (which was our experience even precovid) in that they don't always come asking for drink orders (a really small thing, not an issue for us but noticable). we really enjoyed, the buffet being a grand class ship was more limited than the Royal Class and not as good as our last time on a grand class ship (Crown princess) but that was prepandemic and on a med cruise, so hard to compare. room was excellent, our steward was fine (not great, definitely not bad), it was very enjoyable cruise and we thought entertainment was better than we remembered too especially in the main theatre.
  13. just stay in manhattan, there's nothing around the red hook area and you'll need to taxi/uber there anyways. it's a cheap cab/uber ride
  14. it's a lot easier and faster than before i find with the new method. i'm in canada so uploaded pdf of my brokerage statement with account number redacted just like before. But now going forward, i just hit a button on the app and redeem the OBC for other cruises as well. very convenient and no more difficult than previous and they now credit within 5 business days and you get notification big improvement!
  15. you could've just gone to the other dining room? palm, island and whatever? we were on CB in sept and we ate dinner at different times each night and walked in, if there's a wait, they call and see if less wait at other dining room and send us there. but after a few days we had a server we liked so they said just walk into our table in future and we did that for rest of cruise

You can still do it like that old school, it just won't be as quick to board and others who do the online check in, app etc will have much quicker and easier experience. even HAL has the app and when you get to port, just scan barcode and it'll do facial recognition and i walk onboard think of how long check in , luggage etc was back in the day for air travel having to lineup for an agent, have them stick luggage tag etc.. nowadays, i just walk in, goto kiosk and print out luggage tags and drop off bag. much less waiting around . same with immigration, they just scan my face ,
  17. seems it'll save a lot of staff time manually processing it and going through emails. the app can streamline and basically automate it all
  18. Emailed for shareholder benefit and got email to go through app. Easy peasy, you don't have to provide income, address and any other info if you don't want (just hit skip). Uploaded copy of the same statement I sent to princess, verified in like a hr and then applied for the shareholder obc They send email saying it's been submitted for princess Congratulations! Your request for an onboard credit for your upcoming cruise (Booking #: xxxxx departing on 2024-MM-DD) has been successfully submitted to Princess. We will be in touch with you in the next five (5) business days to either: Confirm that the credit has been applied to your cruise booking by Princess; or Request for more information regarding your application.
  19. There was steak, beef wellington, huge scallops and yes lobster on formal night when i was on CB in september. But overall food/ingredient quality has declined from precovid imo HAL is much better for food and service but too bad lately their prices are like 10-20% higher than princess for similar itinerary/dates so we are on princess still for now
  20. too bad no such setting on my pixel (reset accessibility settings, reset app settings may do it but its a pain to setup again after) and i'm not going to reset my phone to get the stupid app to maybe work hope princess figures this out..i can see lot of people complaining about this on app store now and they should be able to push out a fixed version soon hopefully.
  21. Yup completely unusable. I did "figure" out I can input fields like name/reservation id by tapping the button twice for everything from choosing field to input on keyboard but I can't scroll or do anything once logged in How they was allowed to be published is beyond baffling. Do they truly have absolutely zero QA at all? What's the email address? I'll send them one too (quick search didn't find it)
  22. I was in Carribean princess in September and had a great time and found the food pretty consistent with my previous experience. Yes the CB is older ship compared to royal class but it was in very good shape, MDR was good and buffet was similar to previous experience on similar class of ships Huge scallops frequently on menu, only cost cutting noticed was they served Basa in MDR one night (buffet had red snapper luckily) but desserts were great and service especially in MDR was great. Buffet was hot and miss as servers stood around not getting drinks or clearing plates quickly sometimes but that was precovid as well It was a good cruise and made me add princess back into my consideration after I basically switched to HAL (who I still think have better food)

  24. how so? i showed up at dining room last week on my 10 day cruise on a day where i didn't have a reservation (or delete original because i wanted a different dining room). i just show up and they scan my medallion how was it smoother before? you mean before when you told them your room number?
