  1. EU also requires booster to be considered fully vaxed. maybe US can do this? but doubt it
  2. I just tried now and was able to add my cruise (that's on Sept 3), so hope it's fixed for you as well. it skips/won't let me from adding my proof of vax ..i'm hoping it's because they still have it on file from my cruise in May so don't need it. i guess now i'll need to wait til Sept 1 to submit my test results and find out if it's all good then!
  3. I get a general error error occured message for retrieval of the booking... it just says error occurred and try again later based on my tinkering...if i enter in a non valid booking number (eg i use random numbers/letters around), the message is different and it's "Booking not found" and says booking number is invalid. so i think it's something on backend where verifly isn't able to pull the booking details from the api with HAL..
  4. You can contact them as well via app (settings --> get in touch)..i did with my issue (unable to add HAL cruise) and "supposedly" it's been escalated to their engineering dept. 5. You can get arrivcan in the app store Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ca.gc.cbsa.coronavirus iOS https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/arrivecan/id1505394667
  6. Yup same issue (not recognize my HAL booking #). I was able to add it fine like couple weeks ago but I had to reinstall app and now I get error when adding my booking On my May Cruise, I was able to add my booking as soon as I made it (so 90 days out) but can't add my September cruise now Think it's a bug and hope they fix it because the lineup was so much quicker with verifly when I went in May to Alaska
  7. you don't see it under indulgences/gifts in manage your booking? first time it took me a while to realize internet was lumped into that cateogry
  8. all for the better to me..but then i'm relatively "young" at low 40s so i think it's been long time coming to not differentiate what's deemed proper appearance based on one's gender, age or w/e. there shouldn't be different standards on what someone can wear just based on their gender whatever it maybe (or not be) and really doesn't impact me one bit. it may not look good to me, but i'm not one wearing it. i don't like it when people push their values/beliefs on to me be it political, religious or w/e..so how they dress is no different. if they want to be in wife beater, flipflops and cargo shorts...or just as bad a suit/jacket that's not tailored or a cut that's from like 2000's (those oversized cuts).. good for them, doesn't really impact me (or at least it shouldn't). even better is post covid (or post people caring), i don't even need to wear khakis and button up for work on days i do go in. Lulu lemon ABC joggers and a dri fit polo is as formal as i need to get.
  9. They had some pretty new movies when i was on the Konigsdam in May (not current releases, but reasonably new). i think total probably 50+ movies or so? i'm gong on zaandam in september and really disappointed it doesnt have the on demand system, i guess with the old tvs..i can probably use my universal remote (or even physical button on tv) to switch to hdmi input so i can watch my streaming stuff (or downloaded streaming stuff) on it. Hoping internet is better than on Konigsdam in Alaska! streaming was a definitely no way on the Zaandam, is it just like a movie channel that plays random movies all the time? that's still better than RCL or carnival where the free tv is basically all ship stuff pushing promos or a couple of tv channels
  10. Skytrain, directly from airport to waterfront station on Canada line. Then it's like a 5-10min walk I took sky train from cruise terminal (across from pan Pacific) to airport in May
  11. I was on koningsdam and that's what the officers told me when I was speaking with them about how empty the ship was Also other cruiseline including NCL have said they are limiting capacity due to lack of crew https://thepointsguy.com/news/cruise-lines-crew-shortages/
  12. I already answered it and have already completed a cruise starting from Vancouver and returning to Vancouver Happy to answer any more questions you may have but re read my response above as I've edited to eli5 that should help
  13. Arrivcan submits info electronically and is tied to your passport..they don't need to see it when you arrive as they already have the info. Your previous trip (into Canada) is totally irrelevant and has zero relevance do you have kids or nephews etc who can help you? If you still want to try on your own, you are arriving into Vancouver cruise terminal, you can't select your embarkation date as it's only upto 72hrs before embarkation of your cruise ..your arrival is the date you return to Vancouver (end of cruise) I had zero issues with arrivcan for my Alaska cruise from roundtrip Vancouver cruise. You seem to be stuck on your initial trip into Canada which is over and not relevant at all anymore So eg if cruising this Saturday (say July 2-9) ..you can fill out arrivcan starting today as it's within 72hr of embarkation and it let's you select as far out as July 2 ... your entry date is July 9 (return)
  14. yes...you have to fill it out if cruise will visit (or return) to canadian port. I'm a canadian and went on Konnigsdam to alaska from vancouver and filled it out they check before they let you board the ship you just delete your old trip in arrivcan and add the cruise as new trip. takes like a minute as alll your previous stuff is already saved. If you think about it, you are leaving canada and going outside the country and coming back. no different than if you flew to US (or whereever) from canada and go back a week later..you still have to clear immigration and customs right? reason you don't have to do it within 72hrs of return is most likely they know not everyone will have internet on a cruise ship to be able to fill it out 72hrs before arrival to canadian port and there's no feasible way for cruise to check all pax 72hrs before arrival...so they make it within 72hrs of embarkation so they check it at same time as documents, and vax etc.

  16. well...florida man is best confined to florida
  17. ya..definitely avoid the US where possible and especially florida and texas even moreso now than before stick with MA and NY and WA for cruising to avoid the issues in florida and texas etc
  18. i generally agree with your thoughts but i think the sailing below capacity is more of lack of staff. basically the cap on the boat instead of 100% is in reality more like 70% (or w/e, just well under 100%), so they price their voyages and adjust the pricing with the capacity as if full was 70% because there's no point selling more cabins than they can handle and leaving $$ on the table
  19. not to discount experience of others...but i had amazing time on Konigsdam in May in alaska and it was our first HAL cruise and we liked it so much we are booking NE canada in september ! but i do share your opinion on overall state of the cruise industry
  20. true because air travel is actual transportation and necessity and mostly employ americans... cruising is pure leisure ...they're not going to bail them out (nor should they, especially as majority of staff are not american)..
  21. Just use verifly and save a lot of time for boarding. Upload your vax (pdf and they'll verify within a hr as they don't take Ontario qr code vax), upload test results and health queatuonaire I didn't need any printout or show vax record cause I used verifly
