Breakaway 12 day

Really good cruise with a nice bunch of people, and the crew was wonderful. Start with my complaint, I didn't like the shower head in the inside cabin could not adjust the spray force and the ship is too big for the mobility challenged.:)

I was pleasently suprised with the food onboard. They served surf and turf on the first night along with prime rib and the lobster tails were a nice size. I think the best steak that I had on board was in Savor? (it was the port side dining venue). We ate in the Japanese habichi, Cagney's, Le Bistro and Churrescara twice. Had a lot of comps this cruise. The dining with an officer was in the Churrescara restaurant.

Stayed on the ship in all ports except for St. Kitts. Nice to have the pool and hot tubs to yourself.

I was in the casino most of the time and you do smell smoke when you get off of the elevators on 6,7 and 8. I did not see any shows. I started to see rock of ages but it was to loud for my taste.

I found 12 days was to long for me, 9 days is about right.:)

Seems everyone is coming back from the 12 nighter with good comments.

I thought they weren't serving lobster tails in the DR 1st night but rather 2nd night in the Garden Cafe. You mentioned surf & turf first night so has that changed?

Did you attend the Officers Dinner? Do you recall what night it was held and what time? Lucky you being picked in the lottery. We plan to put our names in the hat.

Do you play slots? Any favorite machines?

Thanks for posting!

Lobster tails on the first night suprised me too perhaps it was because of the 12 night itinerary. I don't know if they were served in the buffet on day 2.

Dinner with the officers was on Thursday of the first week about 6:00 pm.

I play video poker and won a little but then gave it all back and more.

Cruise was a bit rocky going down, smooth coming back.

The hallways felt more narrow especially when there are trays or service carts in them. There were many people in scooters, walkers and wheelchairs and they all seemed to manage very well.

That is because the corridors on cabin decks in fact are narrower than on older ships because of the extra corridors in the middle they decided to implement for some reason. There have been multiple comments about people with wheelchairs, scooters, etc having trouble getting through when the cabin maintenance carts are out.

I walk with a cane and am a big guy. Generally the corridors were more narrow than on the older ships. Next time I would get a handicap cabin since they were closer to the elevators and you would not have to navigate passing the cleaning carts. I noticed that when people were passing with walkers and baby carriages the stewards had to move the carts into the alcove between cabins to let the people pass.

If you use a wheelchair i would recommend a handicap cabin. As I said they were closer to the elevators and did not have to navigate the cleaning carts. The carts were further down the corridors.
