Loved the BlackJack band, they played such a variety of music. Food did not seem as good as previous cruises, but we did not go hungry. Love the BLT from room service.

Are they still on the Dream?!!! We loved them 2 yrs ago. What a gig!!!

We were on the dream last April and loved it!! The piano bar guy did get on our nerves. I didn't like the fact that he drew attention to anyone when we walked in.

My wife really got annoyed by it. Line for comedy club went thru piano bar and he did this over and over and over.

Nice review! Can you tell me if they still have the Fun Force Dancers on the Dream? When we cruised the Dream in 2012, these guys were the highlight of the cruise! Are they still on the Dream? Did you go to any of the production shows? Is the show 'Dancing in the Streets' still featured? We're on the 9 - day Dream repositioning cruise in April and can't wait! Thanks for any info.

...Thank you for taking the time to post your review.

...Glad to see you enjoyed the Piano Bar. It's one of our favorite things to do on a ship.

...On our last Breeze cruise, we had the one and only Ron Pass. I frequent the Piano Bar on every cruise and he was the best ever! He had standing room only every evening. Too bad he's recently left Carnival and gone on to other things. Keeping my fingers crossed that the piano entertainer on our upcoming Liberty cruise is half as good as Ron.

This makes me HAPPY :) we are going on her in less than 60 days and super excited!

So far only negative about this booking is I messed up and booked the FTTF rooms on mine and my mom's instead of mine and my Aunts so now that my oldest DD is in my Aunt's room I don't know how that will work (mom has suite). Worst case we get there early and hope for short lines :).

Do you know if there are age restrictions in the piano bar etc at night. My kids are 15 and 17. We are on the dream in 2 weeks! Cant wait! Glad you had a great time!

Unless something has changed recently, there is no age restriction, and no adult has to accompany them. It is a very common mistake that people make, especially on these boards. My last time on the Dream, a 15-year old boy was wanting to join in with the dancers hanging out in the piano bar, but thought he couldn't. But then, the cruise director told them that he absolutely could; no age limit.

OP, thank you so much for sharing your experience. I'll be on the Dream soon, and it's good to hear that they're keeping it together on there. One of the few Carnival ships left that is still trying to get this aspect of cruising right.

The policy states: Lounges, Shows, and the Dance Club: Guests under the age of 18 should be accompanied by an adult in all public areas of the ship. It does not say they must be accompanied, so you are technically correct. I stand corrected. However, I would prefer not to see teens hanging around the bars unaccompanied. :)

That is great to hear. I saw a couple of videos of them and am looking forward to their shows. Even my daughter (who isn't impressed by shows) said she wanted to make sure we saw them in May. Glad to hear the music/entertainment is better than on some of the other ships.

Just back from the Dream , avoided Carnival last year because of the cut backs ,ect Gave them one more try , We were really surprised at the changes we saw . Very fast boarding ,at about 11:30 , went straight to cabin to drop off carry on's . Headed to buffet , This was the only day it was really crowded , People just sitting around after they had all ready ate. Mid 70's to 80 for sail away , Great sail away party , We did anytime dining , This was the worst part of the trip , Always a wait line ,one night line was all the way into the show lounge . Do it again we would do traditional dining.

Music one word WOW ,it was great , On lido deck outside , Early morning shows like the Honey Mooners were shown , About 11-12 DJ ,Sir Charles , the best I have seen on Carnival played 50's 60's 70's Music , Jimmy Buffett , Zac Brown , Toby Keith { Red Solo Cup} ,Bob Marley , ect NO rap , techno , ect was heard , Later after DJ a guitar soloist played , Songs like Sweet Caroline , Brown Eyed Girl , A lot of sing along music .This was done everyday .

Shows were all new to us They had a 7 piece band , ,Easy to get good seats. Bob in the piano bar was very good , His saying everybody yelled when someone new walked into piano bar was , HOLY SHIP !! Come on in !! We saw 4 different comedy acts , all very good , There was live music every night Deck 5 midship lanai area , Different them every night , Country , 50,60 , 70's , Madi Gras , ect Lot of fun . Live singers , guitar player in casino every night , Live singers in atrium every night , soft ,rock , easy listening ect.

It seemed as if we went from one venue to another ,and stayed to listen ,and see each , They were all very good .

Not many were seen in karoke bar , and They did not have enough people to fill the legends show parts , Carnival staff had to play 4 or 5 parts in that show. We tried a spa cabin this trip , 11th floor , only down side was we had a crying baby next door for a week , EVERY night he cried , . All in all this was a great cruise when compared to past Carnival cruise's We were off the Dream at 7:15 AM headed home .

I think we were on the sailing before you ( 1/4) and we were in 11240 ( our kids in 11223 and 11224) and We had a screaming baby next door too ! It must have been every night from midnight until 2 or 3am. I was beginning to wonder if the baby was alone  I would say she was about 18-20 months old, so not a tiny baby. A couple of nights I was really at odds with myself trying to be patient, but holding back from banging on the wall (which would have done no good I know) On our sailing there was always a great crowd in karaoke ( partly my group, but lots of others) and the Legends auditions were PACKED. Our previous Dream cruise was more like yours as far as karaoke, but they did have every legend barely represented. We love the Dream . It has everything that we love and a nice crew/staff.

ETA: My husband had a "run in" with crying baby's father. He was walking behind him in the spa and noticed that he had dropped his card. He nicely said " You dropped something" and the guy really snarled at him =/ Im guessing that they didn't have the cruise that they expected....

We'll be sailing with a group on the Dream on Halloween. We've booked a SPA OV way up front on 11. Can't wait! :)

Joe<-----Just countin' down the days! :D

I didn't realize there were OV on the spa deck! I thought it was only interior and balcony. That's good info to have!

At the piano bar there are no age limit although children should be accompanied by an adult and remember it is a bar and after 10 o'clock it is very adult and no place for any child. Cindy

Thank you for your review on the Dream and it is so refreshing to read a upbeat review for once. so many reviews are so negative in some way or another. My thoughts are if your that unhappy about what goes on cruises go another route for vacation. I don't have a lot of cruises under my belt but the ones that I have been on we enjoyed a lot, even coming back to 21/2 feet of snow in Baltimore. We are so looking forward to the Dream cruise June 8th and we are bringing along two newbies and none of us have ever been to New Orleans so that's another plus to look forward to, so Thank you again for your positive review..:)

Delighted to hear your review of the Dream...we will be on the 6/29/14 sailing out of NO. Was on the Breeze last year and quickly grew tired of the DJ and his horrible selection of blaring rap...hard the enjoy the serenity on the serenity deck while that is going on.

So are they testing out new things on the dream? With the DJ as well as the Evening shows? That would be welcome news as we didn't really enjoy the shows on the Breeze either.

Nice review, leaving 1/25 have AT dining but probably won't go until around 7:00 so hope the line won't be an issue. Doing steak house one night and considering Chef's table another.

We are sailing the same dates! We've been on the Dream twice already, both times anytime dining ( just two of us), and we wouldn't do it any other way. We always go down about 7 pm or so and seldom wait more than a few minutes. Maybe a couple times it took 15 min, just like it would in most good restaurants on land. Heck , they gave us a beeper and we just went out to atrium and had a drink. It will be crazy the first night, but that is the peoples fault , not Carnival. After that first night , people generally figure it out .

Enjoy the cruise !
