ccruisequeen Posted January 24, 2014 #27 Share Posted January 24, 2014 So, if the tenders don't run at night, and the ship is in port until 1a.m. what is there to do on the ship if you don't want to go to the concert? Casino and shops are closed. Will Carnival have the comedians or alternative music? Would of been nice if they had the concert when in Ensenada and stayed later there. Probably comics in the lounge Sent from my iPod
hannahsmomtoo Posted January 24, 2014 Author #28 Share Posted January 24, 2014 since every cruise is at a different price. how do you know it is not costing you more? the first round may be at the same price or not, week later is less $ Who knows in the future My October 2014 cruise was JUST added as a Trace Adkins "live" cruise... didnt change the price a penny.... I wouldnt expect it to... The artist doesnt sail with you... the fly into the port ( Nassau ) in my case.. give a concert ( which does cost $$ ) and then they leave. Doesnt effect my cruise at all , other than I can be at Atlantis longer. :D
PittsburghGirlee Posted January 24, 2014 #29 Share Posted January 24, 2014 (edited) Well it seems to me that with not being able to open the casino that night they are going to lose a lot of revenue. I am not sure if this is a true statement as some of the late ports permit the opening of the ships casino. I just cannot remember if the Bahamas was one of them. I know I was on one of them last year (2013) when it happened. We thought we would not be able to gamble and then the FUN TIMES had it posted and also announcements were made that the casino would be opening up at 6:00pm or 7:00 pm and we were still in port :) Edited January 24, 2014 by PittsburghGirlee

They could up anchor and go a few miles out to sea. Returning closer to shore for the transfer.

primadonut Posted January 24, 2014 #32 Share Posted January 24, 2014 maybe the comedy clubs will be less crowded those nights, that could be considered an improvement for those who aren't interested in the concerts

tncap Posted January 25, 2014 #34 Share Posted January 25, 2014 They could up anchor and go a few miles out to sea. Returning closer to shore for the transfer. That will not be an option. The ship will remain docked in Cozumel or Nassau and at anchorage in Catalina.
2 cruzen Posted January 25, 2014 #35 Share Posted January 25, 2014 From the FAQ : On concert nights, the ship will set sail at 1:00AM. Guests will be allowed to enjoy the extended hours in the ports of Cozumel and Nassau, however due to the fact that Catalina is a tender port and tender operations are not available at night, guests must return to the ship as posted onboard well before 1:00AM Wonder how many non-concert goers who are having fun at Sr. Frogs will be missing the ship after 3-4 hours longer there. :p
nitro2448 Posted January 25, 2014 #36 Share Posted January 25, 2014 You can stay at all non-tender ports longer, which is one right now
JWGrayson Posted January 25, 2014 #37 Share Posted January 25, 2014 That is the beauty of this new program. Instead of the full music charters that usually accompany these bands, which charge a huge premium for that sailing. This program does NOT raise the price of the cruise, but ONLY the people who CHOOSE to pay for this "excursion" pay any additional fee. Those who have no intrest in the artist, just get an extended time in their port, to enjoy whatever they CHOOSE to do. Bill It is a shame that the button doesn't work! The other day when I read about the concert series all the posts were negative. I stopped reading after the first page (20 posts.) I doubt that I'd book a cruise simply for the concert, but it is a nice option if on a cruise that has one. John
