Seamo Posted January 25, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2014 .... Hi CC message boards, On Epic .... and have many questions. ....... Please forgive the use of the following format of # 1) .. # 2) and so on ...will help keep it clear ( at least for us ). #1) Cabin 13276: the very last on Port-side. A family Balc. B2. Any info?! it is under the Spa ... but looks like it is below the "relax/outer window area of that spa feature". Noise?? #2) Bringing wine with us. Must do it in carry on at embark? ... not in "checked" ...? and same question for soft drinks like favorite Cokes/Lemon-lime etc.. #3) Always used the 'Shoe-caddy' for hanging on bathroom door. Made a great organizer and easy locator for bathroom/other needs. Is this a usable item .... with the Epic.. and the 'Special' bath/potty design...?? #4) Seems "dress-up" is NOT a Epic thing ... but do some folks wear a jacket for dinner ... say at Cagney .. Le Bistro .. or just 'any time'?? #5) Have a very late after cruise flight ... How long are you allowed to "linger" onboard ... until "hey you two.>!! off, yes get off! ___________________________________________________________ Thank you for any help on these ...:D:D :) seamo :)
B6ConMe Posted January 25, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2014 (edited) .... Noise?? Unlikely you'll experience much noise. #2) Bringing wine with us. Must do it in carry on at embark? ... not in "checked" ...? Wine, yes carry on and go to desk after security to pay corkage fee $15/bottle and same question for soft drinks like favorite Cokes/Lemon-lime etc.. For soft drinks and water you can simply tag them, no problem they will be delivered to your cabin with luggage. #3) Always used the 'Shoe-caddy' for hanging on bathroom door. Made a great organizer and easy locator for bathroom/other needs. Is this a usable item .... with the Epic.. and the 'Special' bath/potty design...?? The bathroom setup on Epic is a little different but you should be able to use the shoe caddy over one of the doors. #4) Seems "dress-up" is NOT a Epic thing ... but do some folks wear a jacket for dinner ... say at Cagney .. Le Bistro .. or just 'any time'?? No need for a jacket but fine if you want to, most men will wear polo shirt and khaki's and that's dressy enough, but dressier is fine too. #5) Have a very late after cruise flight ... How long are you allowed to "linger" onboard ... until "hey you two.>!! off, yes get off! I'm afraid you'll need to vacate the ship by 10-10:30, no lingering, the crew has to get ready for the next bunch of happy cruisers. ___________________________________________________________ Thank you for any help on these ...:D:D :) seamo :) Enjoy your cruise, Edited January 25, 2014 by B6ConMe

Steeler Nation At Sea Posted January 25, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 25, 2014 Signed on to the UltiDinDinPack. Seamo Love this. Seriously, OP it looks like you know what you like to eat and if 4 times at the Steakhouse gets old, Moderno seems to me to be an excellent value option for the carnivores out there, when compared to the cost of a land based churrascaria. Then again, with the "UDDP" :D, the value is maximized by more trips to Cagney's. If it were my trip, I'd not miss La Cucina. dkbvs Posted January 25, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 25, 2014 Just got off epic. Wife brought the organizers and the type we had didn't work cause there is no door to hang it on but she used rubber bands to hook it on something.

LadyPacis Posted January 26, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 26, 2014 #3) Always used the 'Shoe-caddy' for hanging on bathroom door. Made a great organizer and easy locator for bathroom/other needs. Is this a usable item .... with the Epic.. and the 'Special' bath/potty design...?? The shower doors have two towel hooks on them. Not sure if they would hold up the caddy, but they are there. skymama815 Posted January 26, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 26, 2014 Just got off of the Epic today... I brought my shoe caddy but it didn't work with the shower door. My caddy hangs on 2 hooks and would slide off every time I opened the shower door. Maybe suction cups would work? We had to use the towel hooks for towels and jackets as there were 4 of us. There is a lot of storage though including a large medicine cabinet so I didn't miss my caddy at all. I did hang another caddy inside the wardrobe for other things but it is a ways from the sink (relatively speaking of course!) We did the dining plan too. La Cucina, Le Bistro and Cagney's. Great deal. Keep in mind that you can changed the dates around if necessary once on board in case your plans change. Not sure if you can change the venues though. We had to be out of our staterooms by 9:00 this morning. The available restaurants closed at that time too and everyone was herded to the exits. We always take a couple of cases of bottled water inboard. We've never had an issue. The porter tagged it along with our other bags and it showed up in our cabin with our bags. I can't answer any of the other questions but I'm sure others will be able to. Have fun! We LOVED the Epic and cannot wait to go back and cruise her again! B6ConMe Posted January 26, 2014 #9 Share Posted January 26, 2014 *** 4 U .... B6ConMe ... Xthanks ...;)...!!! You're quite welcome (this is the 2nd time doing this, don't know why it didn't get sent the 1st time) Anyway.... A few more Questions ( if u can bear w/us ) ... Signed up for ... "Presumed Murdered Luncheon" ... PML is fine, lots of good food although I'm not sure your kids will enjoy it? are you bringing kids? We enjoyed it, no kids, at the luncheon there were a few teens but no young kids, and if you do have young kids I'd recommend the Cirque show as a great alternative, great acrobatics. any opinions on this choice.? Kids? Silly? Great? :p:eek::cool: Thinking of Spa Pass ... but read that it is as popular (crowded) as any other "goodie" ... and ... further advised that "go to the H20 ... on 'port-days' >> better than the Spa>!?" .. The spa pass I will have to pass on since we've never felt the need to try it, however, they do limit the numbers of passes sold so crowding will not be a problem. We do enjoy stayingon the ship on port days because it's so nice and quiet and lots of room at the pool and everywhere else as well. Signed on to the UltiDinDinPack. and reserved 4 Cagney, 2 Le Bistro and one Teppanyaki . Any opinons here..? The UDP is fairly new so not a lot of feedback specific to it but... specific to the restaurants you've chosen well, we love Cagney's and Teppanyaki, Le Bistro is just ok for us, others will disagree, our personal preference would to also include a night (we did it our 1st night) at Moderno. There is so much! great food and the pineapple is not to be missed, unless you don't like it. The only thing I would say at Moderno is to ask for the filet mignon 1st, yum. really appreciate the help .... T:)ANKS!! Seamo Hope this helps...enjoy your cruise,

Steeler Nation At Sea Posted January 27, 2014 #11 Share Posted January 27, 2014 (edited) Seamo, Get the Spa Pass. The pool alone is worth it. Add in the multiple saunas and steam rooms, the tile loungers and the aft quiet area and it's a destination on the ship not to be missed. I wish I could advise you on your concerns with overcrowding, but, my cruise was a TA, so no idea how full it gets in the Caribbean. H20 zone is only fun for a couple of hours really. Spa is so much better! Enjoy your cruise. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk Edited January 27, 2014 by Steeler Nation At Sea
kerryincork Posted January 27, 2014 #12 Share Posted January 27, 2014 :) I have a question about balcony (BD) and number and type of sockets? Do they have both US and European sockets? Also if there are cabins available is it possible to get upgrade at port side when boarding ship, I sail in 2 weeks time. Thanks:)
B6ConMe Posted January 27, 2014 #13 Share Posted January 27, 2014 :)I have a question about balcony (BD) and number and type of sockets? Do they have both US and European sockets? Also if there are cabins available is it possible to get upgrade at port side when boarding ship, I sail in 2 weeks time. Thanks:) I believe it was 2 sets of sockets, N. American and European, on the Epic and we had taken an extension cord with us for all of our devices. They use one of the EU sockets for the coffee maker. As far as upgrading at the port, it's been stated on this forum many times that the people at the port don't have the where with all to be able to upgrade you. However, having looked at your date, if it's Feb 9th, there are still cabins available so why not call NCL or your TA if that's how you booked and find out if you can get an upgrade? It can't hurt, although do be sure they don't remove any amenities you've already been given. Enjoy your cruise,
Seamo Posted January 28, 2014 Author #14 Share Posted January 28, 2014 Paper, rock. scissor ... or where the " paper meets ... the Bun " .... yea .... it is THAT Question .... O.K., I'll just ask .... Is the (ppsstt) 'tissue' soft ?? Yes , that is correct!; ... the one the comes on the roll....!! Can not recall if it was Celebrity Eclipse or Carni. Splendor or the 27 days on Jewel .... but ... there was a time we bought several (ah,hem) rolls of ' soft ' tissue ... at the Very First Port ....and.... it did get thru Security .. "The Great Epic :o paper issue" ... question ..... Soon to ... ;)Seamo;) ... and feel so so :eek::rolleyes: pampered The problem is.......the tissue, although not as soft, but soft enough, is specifically made for systems such as found on cruise ships, but not limited to them (land septic systems work better with this type of tissue as well). The systems are sensitive too, so let your butt take the brunt of it just for your cruise so it doesn't end up being like that "crappy carnival cruise". Just sayin'....
