jessie36 Posted January 25, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2014 We are on Ventura at the end of April just for a week. Will there be two formal evenings. Also can we put three pieces of luggage through at the airport. I.e 1 suitcase and two suit carriers as long as they don't exceed our allowance. Any advice greatly received.:)
pudd Posted January 25, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2014 Would that be the 23rd of April trip?
ParCan Posted January 25, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2014 You can have as many bags as you want. Just the combined weight matters. 23 KG Each. On a 7 night cruise expect 2 formal evenings.
kevinyork Posted January 25, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 25, 2014 I would be concerned about checking in suit carriers. Likely to get damaged en route.
jessie36 Posted January 26, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted January 26, 2014 Thanks for advice, shame suit carriers are to big for hand luggage. Not been on a fly cruise so have not had to think about it before. We are on 30th April and never been on Ventura either. We have cruised mainly on azura and oceana from Southampton so much easier but fed up of doing the bay of biscay!! Really looking forward to Venice and day on Capri from Naples . pudd Posted January 26, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 26, 2014 You will be getting on the day we leave. I am sure the flight details give a weight limit of 20 kilos and 5 for hand luggage. This is making me sweat a bit but should be plenty for just a week.

If you have been on Azura you have been on Ventura LOL. There are only minor details different between the two ships such as the casino being on opposite sides, especially following the recent changes to Ventura which has made her more like Azura. The one area where you will see a difference is the pool, on Azura it is open air with a Sea screen, Ventura has a big retractable roof over the pool but no screen. Both ships are lovely of course!!:)
Pontius Navigator Posted January 30, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 30, 2014 (edited) I concur with Kevin and would strongly advise against suit carriers. Properly folded you should have no problem packing the suits in a case. In soft suit carriers they will almost certainly suffer creasing. I used a suit carrier on my last no-fly cruise and carried it on myself! Regarding the weight limit: it was 23kg + 5kg on Thomson. There is a 20 kg limit for coach transfers. On my recent 14 day cruise we had 3 formal evenings which coincided with 3 days at sea - the fourth and final day at sea was the last day so did not count.
