ClaudiaF Posted July 22, 2005 #53 Share Posted July 22, 2005 Thanks Frank for the thought of what everyone would like to have going on ( that isn't) on sea days .. I'll start another TOPIC just for that ..
wsailher Posted July 22, 2005 #54 Share Posted July 22, 2005 It is terrific that you have read the post and are willing to do something about it........also that you appreciate our comments: We look forward to having the trio + , and a singer as well is fabulous.. wsailher Posted July 22, 2005 #55 Share Posted July 22, 2005 I have forgotten how to play majong and canasta...........perhaps lessons in the card room during sea days? OR what about some great movies on the big screen in the auditorium, during the day? Do you do HORSE RACES anymore?
lizf Posted July 22, 2005 #56 Share Posted July 22, 2005 :D This is all toooooo funny! But I must admit that I have to agree with Anthony and Michael (Druke), the shocking pink is called shocking for a reason. ;) For some reason the brighter colors jump back and forth and I just can't read them at all. I tried three times and gave up. Hey, that's what the scroll bar is for right? :D I even had my eyes rechecked this week, but not because of this. I had a stroke in one eye and I found out the vision is gone for good. Perhaps that creates my problem. Never the less, I don't think either Anthony or Druke were trying to be unkind, but I learned a lesson. Scroll on by and don't say anything. :) On a more serious note, we are cruising on a 12 day cruise with only one stop. Yikes, we thought it would be fun with all sea days. Get up, work out, go to breakfast, nap, go to lunch, read, go to the casino, do our laps around the deck. Haven't even gotten to trivia or the wine tasting or all the other good things that have been mentioned. Will there be enough time to do everything? :) Well, still looking forward to it. I'll let you all know when we get back.
stomsf Posted July 22, 2005 #57 Share Posted July 22, 2005 Or any other hard to read font: If you want to read something and it's too hard to see, try highlighting the text with your mouse (Click and drag from the beginning of the text to the end). This usually puts the text at an inverse color onto a black background. This can be used in a number of ways, including secret messages! Now we haven't cruised Oceania yet, so unfortunately we cannot yet comment on our likes/dislikes -- however by the time we get onboard (Feb 5, 2006, Hong Kong to Bangkok) we will have worked ourselves into such a frenzy that it will be difficult to be negative about the cruise. Thanks to all that have contributed to this thread, however, both positive and negative! Steve and Patrick And our puppy's name is Ruth Ann! P.S. There are "other" messages above. :D
lcand1923 Posted July 22, 2005 #58 Share Posted July 22, 2005 The ONLY complaint we have about Oceania is the piped-in music that is played in all of the public areas on the ship during the day. (Sounds like the cheapest MUZAK station.) We like to find a quiet spot for conversation with fellow passengers. We couldn't find such a spot. At some places, two different piped-in music stations actually collided. As far as at sea day activies: the wine tastings and computer classes were great. The mini-lectures on using your digital camera had some great tips. What we would like to see added: a lecture featuring the art or history of the ports being visited, a lecture about the culture of the people in the area to be visited. KatWag Posted July 22, 2005 #59 Share Posted July 22, 2005 Claudia, Look under the "Edit Options" link in the first section after you click on User CP. I had the same problem, but finally found it there. Kathy

stomsf Posted July 22, 2005 #61 Share Posted July 22, 2005 Steve and Patrick - Got a kick out of your creative use of font colors. :) So, how old is new puppy Ruth Ann? Kathy Little Ruthie is just over a year old (1 year, three days to be exact). She will be about 1 1/2 when we go on our cruise -- I don't know who will be more traumatized; her or us -- I am thinking us, because she will be boarding at her day-care facility and they just LOVE her there (and she loves them!). Then again we will be on Nautica, so we will have plenty to do.

wsailher Posted July 23, 2005 #64 Share Posted July 23, 2005 this is why they have chocolate and vanilla. We felt that the pool music was great- "easy listening" we call it in NY, definately not elevator music and what you would call contemporary without rock- consensus of people "around" was positive, too. esther e Posted July 23, 2005 #65 Share Posted July 23, 2005 I agree about having movies. Also, I found out on the last day of the cruise that there were two Mah Jongg sets in the card room and a lady had been signing up there to find players. Could it be put in the daily program? And, pleeezzzeee, no horseracing! Esther
arizonaartie Posted July 23, 2005 #66 Share Posted July 23, 2005 The only major complaint I have is that the Home Office is reluctant to talk to me and answer my questions because I booked through a TA. Like many of you I feel the TA offers us quite a benefit (not the least of which she sends a limo to transport us to and from the airport) when we leave from our Phoenix home. I realize to make changes to our reservation she has to do it but for other questions I don't see why Oceania won't answer them directly to me. artie
esther e Posted July 24, 2005 #67 Share Posted July 24, 2005 Hey this is great. :) It took me a little while to master it, but "I think I've got it; by George, I've got it." Thanks!!!:D Esther Claudia, Click on User CP in the upper left of the blue bar. Scroll down to "Miscellaneous Options". Change "Message Editor Interface" (drop down list) to read "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing". Then you will see the icons to edit your posts color, font, bold, etc. when you click on Post Reply. A bit of trivia from a computer nerd... WYSIWYG translates to "What you see is what you get". Good luck! Joe

Member Posted September 27, 2005 #75 Share Posted September 27, 2005 Dance, dance, dance for an hour or so after dinner and/or the "show" is our preference. But I don't see how the Oceania ships do it as the main dance floor is right in front of the show stage while a second one is by the main dining room far corner. Do they have live bands? What kinds of music they played? Any experience with this is appreciated.
