What are people's thoughts and tips on kayaking to Mendenhall Glacier? We are considering doing this in Mid May.

Mid May is probably too cold . Much of the ice around the glacier probably wouldn't have melted. If it is the west coast of BC ,it is near the end of high water season.

We kayaked in Auke Bay with Beyond Alaska last May. Whales all around us. It was a long trip, about 8 miles, but so much fun.

Hey Kamloops - Good Point! We contacted Beyond Alaska and they said most likely the ice on the lake will have melted, but there is a small chance not all of it has melted, in which case we would need to do something else.
