webzila Posted February 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 1, 2014 Question for those who have used babies & tots or know someone who have: Are reservations to drop off a child still required? If yes, is it possible to reserve the time slots online in advance or is this only done on board? (With Disney we were able to reserve babysitting slots well in advance prior to the cruise.) Is it still $6 per hour during the day and $8 per hour at night? What are their hours? RCCL website has no info regarding that.
Jen731 Posted February 1, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 1, 2014 Here is the link from RC: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/customersupport/faq/details.do?pagename=frequently_asked_questions&pnav=5&pnav=2&faqType=faq&faqSubjectId=334&faqSubjectName=Life+Onboard&faqId=2002 Babysitting is offered both in a group setting, and individually in your stateroom. In stateroom babysitting must be reserved through the Guest Relations Desk (Purser's Desk) at least 24 hours in advance. It cannot be reserved prior to the cruise vacation and there is no guarantee that sitters will be available. The service is offered between 8:00 am and 2:00 am when personnel is available. Sitters will be assigned on a first come first served basis Children MUST be at least 1 year old. Approximate Rate: $19 per hour for up to three children within the same family. Times and prices are subject to change without notice. Payment will be made using your onboard SeaPass card.

Cdncruisefam Posted February 1, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 1, 2014 Hi Webzila We're just off the Indy (Jan 18) and used the nursery twice. Keep in mind that apparently there weren't a lot of kids on our sailing like there would be at spring break time, but we were able to call at 5.30 to reserve for 8 or 9pm that night. $6/ hour is the fee untl 6pm and then $8/hour from 6pm to midnight. They were very sweet with our 18 mt old.
webzila Posted February 1, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted February 1, 2014 Thanks for the info. Were the hours and prices the same on port days as sea days? Sent from my VS980 4G using Forums mobile app

cruise2snorkel Posted March 22, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 22, 2014 How was the service provided in the nursery? Will be sailing with a 1 year old and hesitant on whether we want to use the nursery at all.
Rare rimmit Posted March 22, 2014 #8 Share Posted March 22, 2014 How was the service provided in the nursery? Will be sailing with a 1 year old and hesitant on whether we want to use the nursery at all. We used it for about 30ish hours on a transatlantic when our son was 16 months and about 20 hours on a seven day western carribean when he was a little over two. We loved it and so did he. He was one of the only ones there each night though as there were very few young kids on our sailing. We loved the counselors and thought they did an awesome job. Always seemed enthusiastic to see our son. We were very pleased. I like it better than AO as I feel the infant to staff ratio is better and the counselors look less overwhelmed.
