How long before cruise must I cash in BofA points for OBC?

I want to cash in some Royal Caribbean credit card points for a few hundred dollars of OBC on our Allure cruise in May.

 

I'm putting it off as long as possible in case we should have to cancel for any reason.

 

How long before the cruise do the points have to be applied/cashed in?

I just talked to them today to change cabins. Before I hung up, the lady told me to call back no less than 7 days before my sailing to cash in points for an OBC.
