Is the onboard credit from Fun Points the refundable kind?

Somehow we ended up with around 50,000 points from the Carnival MasterCard. We are past final payment, so we plan on cashing it in for $400 onboard credit. We also have $100 OBC from a future cruise certificate.

 

We are doing all non-Carnival excursions, and I can't see us spending $500 on alcohol or gambling. If we don't spend it all can we get the balance refunded, or is it non-refundable?

I'm not sure on your question but don't forget the gratuities as well. I believe your credit can go towards those.

It's debatable if they will refund unused OBC or not.

 

I don't take any chances and if I have any unused credits from any source I go to the casino and download it to my players bank then cash it out.

I used them on my last cruise and they were non-refundable. I found this out at the last minute and had to spend it or lose it. Ended up spending it on stuff that I wouldn't normally buy. I even try to buy gift certificates in formalities and wasn't able to do that on my account.
