Emdee Posted March 29, 2014 #26 Share Posted March 29, 2014 I agree about smaller is better. Actually we were considering Seabourn. 450 passengers and a better crew/pax ratio. But we realize that PG is more FP intensive than a ship just "passing through". :D Haven't been on seabourn but will probably try them out at some point. Didn't know they have a full world cruise. But we realize that PG is more FP intensive than a ship just "passing through". :D Seabourn is showing no indication of visiting FP in the future. Silversea's Silver Shadow will be there this October for several cruises within the area. The Shadow is 28,000 tons with 382 passengers versus the PG at 19,000 tons and 332 passengers. We have sailed on both the Shadow and the PG and, while the Shadow is more formal and the PG is more casual, it all comes down to how much immersion you want in Polynesian culture. PalmLady Posted April 2, 2014 #29 Share Posted April 2, 2014 I read that on Air Tahiti the carry-on luggage weight limit is 20 lbs. and on Fiji Airlines it is only 15 lbs. so that might not be big enough to avoid checking luggage.
