Rocky Top Posted July 21, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2005 Has anyone stayed in D-715 on the Coral? We are in this cabin for Nov. 14th sailing. If not, what about any of those cabins in the same area (D706 - D726)? Is the balcony completely covered and is the cabin the same as mini suites that are on the upper decks? Would really appreciate any input. Thanks !!!!!
LARGIN Posted July 21, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2005 Would like to know also as we are in D716 on our May Panama cruise.
bigcruisefan Posted August 4, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 4, 2005 We were in D724 on the July 9th Northbound Alaskan cruise. The balcony is covered in that room and the others around looked covered to me. The room was great and of course the big plus was the extra space in the bathroom. LARGIN Posted August 4, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2005 bigcruisefan.. How was the movement back there??
bigcruisefan Posted August 5, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 5, 2005 I didn't notice that the movement was any worse than anywhere else on the ship. I do have to admit that the movement on the Coral Princess seemed to be a little more than I remembered from the other 3 Alaskan cruises we'd been on. One was on the Sun Princess, one on one of the Celebrity ships, and the other on a RCCL ship. It may just be a false memory of the amount of movement being small in the past or the seas might have been slightly more this trip. Certainly there was never enough motion to cause us any problems. LindaJo Posted August 5, 2005 #6 Share Posted August 5, 2005 We were in D721 for the 10 '03 Panama cruise and loved every minute. Balcony is completely covered and larger than a standard balcony stateroom. Didn't notice any additional movement at all. A big plus is there is a private little balcony at the end of the hall which is never used and great for viewing the canal. You are also close to the laundry, but never heard any noise from it. Big draw back is, it is a very long walk back to your cabin at night, especially if you have had an extra cocktail!! LOL :D
tatadaze Posted August 6, 2005 #7 Share Posted August 6, 2005 note to Largin: we are in D716 on Nov 24. I will post afterward and let you know how it was. I have been assured by wonderful people on this site that the balcony is covered and we would love the mini suite.

LOL :DPerhaps this will discourage me from my usual late night visit to Horizon Court ;) (we will be aft on the D deck on the coral in January). mii Posted August 7, 2005 #13 Share Posted August 7, 2005 Do you know if all the decks on the dolphin deck are covered or just the ones on the end? We're in D414edna Edna on the Dolphin deck the ones at the end are covered. Yours and mine D415 are uncovered. The mini's on the Emerald deck are covered. It sure is confusing isn't it.:D Marilyn
edna@optonline.net Posted August 8, 2005 #14 Share Posted August 8, 2005 Hi Marilyn thanks for the answer. That's what I thought. On the sun and the dawn the dolphin deck is covered. Oh well. Either way we got great locations, just different sides of the ship. Speak to you soon edna
ahracer Posted August 8, 2005 #15 Share Posted August 8, 2005 D721 is covered. I have been in C637 and E709 and never had any motion problems even in rough seas. Scott
Iamthesea Posted August 19, 2005 #16 Share Posted August 19, 2005 it is a very long walk back to your cabin at night, especially if you have had an extra cocktail!! LOL :D Can't we use the aft elevators?
Rare taxatty Posted August 20, 2005 #17 Share Posted August 20, 2005 We were just in C718 on the Coral. Except for those farthest aft, it looked like all of the Caribe balconies (which were 1/2 covered) completely covered all of the Dolphin deck balconies below us in our area. shonandsuzie Posted August 22, 2005 #20 Share Posted August 22, 2005 Need info. re : these balconies. We know that this is uncovered. Wondering how large it is. Also there must be times when the sun does not hit the balcony, right? Even though we love the bid ship location, feeling nervous re: our choice. Iamthesea Posted August 23, 2005 #21 Share Posted August 23, 2005 shonandsuzie - This thread is about the Coral/Island. You may get a better answer if you post a separate thread about the CB.
Love Cruis'n Posted August 23, 2005 #22 Share Posted August 23, 2005 Does anyone know if the aft elevators can be used by the passengers? As best I can remember, and I looked at the pocket ships guide last evening as well, yes, aft elevators may be used by passengers. :) Terry

Iamthesea Posted August 23, 2005 #24 Share Posted August 23, 2005 Walking past 8 staterooms is considered a long walk??? Just enough to walk off our dessert. :D
phaelon56 Posted August 23, 2005 #25 Share Posted August 23, 2005 Does anyone know if the aft elevators can be used by the passengers? The aft elevators would be a great solution if they ran horizontally the length of the ship!!! {:-) Seriously though.... the Dolphin deck rooms that were being discussed are almost all the way up at the bow of the ship (foreward) and the baclcony mentioned is aft (at the rear or stern of the ship). You can use the aft elevators but there's still a relatively long walk from the stern to the bow area (close to or a bit more than 800 feet - a bit more than 8 cabins!)
